He's called Erik Lamela and he sometimes makes our match day squad.

Worst thing is AVB has split the opinion on Erik of Spurs fans.

Another manager in charge and I believe we'd be benefiting from having an integrated and exceptionally talented playmaker at the heart of our attacks.

Eriksen too. It's not like we don't have playmakers with vision in the squad.

Losing itself is not so bad; but the way we were slaughtered would have a detrimental effect on the players' confidence even after AVB is gone.

Paulinho had an absolute mare today, Lewis Holtby was the only bright spark, none of Dembele, Sandro or Paulinho seem to be able to pass the ball forward. Liverpool bossed us in midfield and were first to every ball. Our season is over.

We did get our Tottenham back. This is what we always did through the years.

Exactly been there seen it done it. Actually we are still in Europe, quarter F of the Worthless Cup and 5 points off 5th place. I can't and won't defend that performance but we are still in better shape that we have been in the past. By the way - the year we finished 4th and got into the Champions League, we got knocked out the 2 cups in the third round and had no European competition. Liverpool are much the same and they looked fresher than us because they have already played 10 games less than us this year.

I want someone to explain to me how Coutinho can be such a decisive player for Liverpool, but Lamela can't even get a minute of league time? Lamela's time at Roma dwarfs Coutinho's at Inter, yet the difference between them is that Lamela hasn't had a steady run of games. That is SQUARELY on AVB. If he gets fired, it'll be his personnel decisions that have cost him his job.

I want Holtby, Lamela, and Eriksen starting every league game from here on out. They are our core going forward and need time to play next to each other.

He did try to change things on the pitch, but when you're down to ten men and have a makeshift defence against this Liverpool team there's not a lot you could do.

And why did he not change anything before then? Naughton apparently wasn't 100% coming into the game. I can understand play Sandro if not fully fit, but is the difference in class between Naughton and Fryers that wide that you would risk an injured play (in an unnatural position)

Defence was too high up the pitch, midfield didn't support them. All things that could have been addressed in the first half. Injuries before and during the game didn't help, obviously. But they cant be used to excuse AVB's part in all this.

I hate to say it, but I don't see what Paulinho is bringing to this team. Just looks so helpless and careless out there. Not sure if it's the way we play, or that he just isn't suited for PL, but I was actually glad he got a red card and some games on the sideline today.

i was saying it before we signed him .... seems that all of the dissenting voices have lost their tongue.

He's a talented player, but when we're trying to play possession football without a player who can control the tempo of it was he worth breaking out transfer record on?

The only solution to it I can see in the current squad is Holtby, especially at the moment with Eriksen returning from injury and Lamela still not featuring. Even with those two I think Lewis should be playing though, he's got the industry and the creativity to play in midfield next to a destroyer.
We did play at a higher tempo with Holtby deeper yeah, trouble is its up to AVB to see these things, not us lol.

Christ, Southampton away next, can't believe I'm worried about playing Southampton away, but they play the type of football that could destroy us too.

I kind of do. Just to see if sticking with a manager in hard but not perilous (not yet at least) times will pay dividends. What I think will happen is a dance we've seen with monotonous regularity over the last 20 yrs and the results have mostly been at best, no different, to downright disasters.

The two guys who really stuck, for a while at least, were managers DL was forced/panicked into going with. BMJ and H.

But yeah, I'm not defending AVB. I hold no antipathy and on some level am still rooting for him but only because I think it might benefit THFC to do so. On the other hand, right now just after another dicking, if news of his departure is announced I'm not sure I'll be as unhappy as I would have been just a couple of weeks ago.

I'm just so very tired of all this shit tbh and nobody knows what the right answer is. I just want us to have nice things! *stamps foot*
I agree with you...I think. I just don't know anymore, stick twist/twist stick???

I just want what we all hoped we would get at the start of the season.

Fuck, my bitch of an ex wife is a Dipper fan too, as are loads of people up here :(
