Was it? He should have gone like for like. Chadli or Son and kept same shape. We were quite bad before that but at least we had just taken the lead. We were so bad after that sub. We lost all shape and somehow managed to look so open that Arsenal will be gutted they didn't win the match.
Did you see Son when he came on?
Did you see Chadli's no show against Wet Sham?

Would rather have bought on Trippier than either of those at that point.

Dier's form has been very worrying for me recently.

I think he's a bit fatigued, he's probably played more than anyone this season. Starting to think we should look at that position in the summer so don't have to rely on him so much.

Far too many times over the last few years when they've been shit we have been as well and haven't punished them, and they've got an undeserved result, usually with some nobody scoring. We can't let that happen again. Can't say these are my favourite games during the season.

Love Poch but his subs were IMO poor. Why Rose off? Odd.

Son should have come on for Lamela.

Too thicken up the midfield and to make sure we don't go down to 10 too imagine though Dier nearly complied

In retrospect maybe Mason wasn't the best sub

When you're playing against 10 you need to make the pitch as wide as possible. With Eriksen and Alli supporting Kane, we had nobody stretching their defence. It was easy for them.

Feels like a loss, that was absolutely shameful. Dier, Alli, Dembele and Eriksen didn't even turn up. I can't remember being so disappointed after a North London derby. They were there for the taking, with 10 men no less, and we were second best for much of the game. Embarrassing.

Embarrassing? I don't think so myself. it's a truism, but ten men is not always easy to play against. We are definitely playing 'top four' football and we should give credit where it's due - fantastic progress over the season, on the way up. I'm pretty proud of the manager and this young team. We need some perspective, surely? A thoroughly exciting game and a rocking stadium.

Not bothered about Leicester right now. I'm bothered about grinding Arsenal into the absolute dust and gobbing on them as we walk away.

We've been close a few times past couple of years and it was right there again. You could feel it. And we fucked it.

Their goal absolutely knocked the stuffing out of players AND the fans. The fans didn't lift it at all any point after that.

Also, I think our young team showed their inexperience by not controlling the game after 2-1.

If Leicester lose, which away to Watford they could quite easily do - then the points and league positions are as you were before the West Ham game - Leicester remain 2 pts clear - Arsenal are still 3 pts behind us - ALL TO PLAY FOR STILL

If we get CL we'd have deserved it imo. Done enough good things this season.

And if we qualify we'll strengthen in a couple areas to see us right in the comp.

There are still a few things I'm not happy about irt the way we play and how Walker and Rose function when they play, but will leave that for another thread/time.
Walker and Rose have many fine atributes but their inability to cross the cross the ball in addition to the occasional brain fart is slightly annoying

Mason for Lamela was the perfect sub at 2-1 up against ten men and Lamela on a yellow. Dier and Alli should have been the next two off though.
Yeah I understand taking off Lamela but didn't see Mason making the difference against 10 men. I was expecting Alli to be subbed and was surprised to see him play the full game.
I think we missed the opportunity tonight!

A bit frustrated by Son lately. The last time he looked half decent was away against Leicester away.

We were set up for a result like this. The Goons have had a bucket load of criticism from all sides during the week, how the lacked bottle etc. No better way to galvanise them into giving a decent performance. Its up to the more experienced members of the team and MP that we don't allow our heads to drop at such a crucial part of the season.

Inexcusable to not win that, are we always going to bottle it when it counts? After the second goal we should have pushed on but we tried to defend the lead why I will never know, bad management in that situation and the players never even looked at it today, piss poor especially after all the good work of this season, but if we can't put away a ten man Arsenal then we have no chance of winning the league, fucking livid, handing the title to Leicester on a plate.
