Thats the problem Levy doesnt actually have any liquid money apart his annual highest Director salary.

His whole wealth is based on the 29% he owns of THFC. Hes clinging on for every penny. Most other owners have wealth made elsewhere and thus have the ability to inject capital, Dan(coys) has to beg uncle Joe

I think this is a big part of it tbh. We're his golden goose, he's only ever going to be conservative on the expenditure and keep squeezing the walking money sacks for everything they're worth.

Wasnt there also some info that if he went to JL for investment that it would dilute his share? But I did think he owned the co that does the food and drink at the stadium
Levy foods (or whatever they're called) are no relation to chairman Daniel Levy.

Levy must absolutely love being chairman and involved with the day to day running. It can only give him a real buzz that he's absolutely desperate not to leave. I think he loves the influence he can have over the football side and loves to win a negotiation. I think in the early years the praise of some of his chairmanship and dealings must have stroked his ego somewhat.

New owners are totally pointless if Levy stays on. You could give him unlimited money and he will continue to operate in the same way, because that's what he's always known and gives him the buzz of having influence and being involved. I think he's often portrayed as this extremely rational emotionless fella but I honestly think it's quite the opposite at times.

I think him being a British chairman means he gets cut some slack on the way he operates. Had he been a foreign chairman he'd have got criticism for being this crazed bloke who doesn't have a clue about football and is controlling far too much outside of his remit. When it comes to media discussions on Levy, I often pick up this sense of disbelief that someone like him could be effectively director of football.

Boehly is a good example. Is Levy any different to him aside from the fact Boehly is at least ambitious if not competent? But the way they are portrayed is very different imo.

I would just add - it really depends on the ambitions of any new owners. If the goal of new ownership to try and win sporting trophies - then, I think they would hold Levy accountable to that goal.

Hopefully they would figure out he's the issue in time but it's still going to delay the process for a couple of years. Perhaps they are actually well aware of the way he operates and are just keeping him on for now for the sake of transitional stability.

Just winning trophies is no good anymore - look at Leicester!

Spot on. A leopard doesnt change its spots. Even if Qatar came in and Levy was chairman, he'd still want to balance sheets and get bargains. He is ultimately the problem.
Yeah. Honestly you could even keep ENIC and just oust Levy and a few of his cronies to see a big improvement. Could be wrong but I think Lewis' influence is minimal. Unfortunately, we are suffering from his' apathy toward the situation. Perhaps if his daughter claimed the keys then she'd be more actively involved.

Well she doesn't like Levy so that's a start.

We know how this ends then, Levy buys Lewis' shares and takes full ownership using all the money he's made for himself

I get that there is an anti Levy narrative but the Lewis girl has done nothing for the club as yet and Levy will leave a decent legacy here
But if you look at it from any other perspective than footballing success then what's not to like about Levy? So if she doesn't like him does it not show where her motivations might lie? I suppose she could be another Boehly though.

The worst of both worlds.

Only Lewis’s trustees are seemingly looking to sell his shares in ENIC though so it’s to be expected. I’m fine with him staying short term to guide the ship but a partnership would be a worry. I think people need to be aware that him staying on is quite a high probability.

He rejects his daughter, goes mad and blind while loking down from atop the stadium, regrets it all, but alas it's too late. Everthing ends in disaster. 'cKing Levy.'
