Good. Don’t want their blood money.
There are plenty of companies with market capitalisation the hundreds of billions of USS for whom this sort of acquisition would not make much of a dent in their balance sheet. It’s sad to say but I don’t really see any other entities being able to stump up the kind of money it would take to get a piece of the pie. Not that I wouldn’t want either of the two. (Qatari’s or Saudi’s)
This 100%There are plenty of companies with market capitalisation the hundreds of billions of USS for whom this sort of acquisition would not make much of a dent in their balance sheet.
But what I think it shows, and why you're right in your conclusion, is that they are not buying to make money, and I don't think I'm being cynical in suggesting they're not buying for a love of the game and a deep emotional connection with the club or its supporters; we all know it's sports washing , stealing our game to cover up things that they could address more directly but prefer to continue, and just use their money in the easiest way to buy blind-eyes by the million.
I think that means the choice of club is almost random process, but a large fan base is a helpful short-cut; nothing much else really matters so Tottenham are as likely or unlikely a target as any other big or potentially big club.
Just ignore all that. Saudi’s will not land here
