What German club could be interested with that price tag? Dortmund? Leverkusen?

If Van Dijk is worth 50m, Wimmer is worth a damn sight more that 17.5 There aren't a whole bunch of decent LCBs out there.

IMO 17.5m is a very brave valuation. He has next to no exposed form this season and that sort of money is only available from English clubs, if he goes overseas that asking price will drop 25% at least.

Wimmer is a very good defender. I'd put the price up to 25, if any prem clubs want to buy him.

I'd imagine English clubs will be looking. I can't see any way that we would get anywhere near replacing Wimmer for 17.5m though.

Wimmer is a decent LCB he would improve a host of teams including Liverpool, Southampton Man C Man U even Arsenal. Personally I wouldn't like to strengthen others and we should sell him a broad.

I think Sonny would probably pay £17.5m just to keep him around to be honest.

Actually in the current market he's worth that as funny as it seems, young international defender with Premiership experience, I can see a lower Prem team easily buying him for that, probably even more.

I like him he's decent back up but sadly last year he didn't really progress. No reason to look to get rid of him, still worth having in the squad.

He can't progress when he hardly plays. I don't think it will be easy to get a quality defender for back up. They will know that the first choice defenders will always be TA and Verts.

True I just don't see Wimmer at the same level though, he's nowhere near good enough in the ball.

I think Wimmer is good enough but he doesn't get any chance to prove himself. When he got a decent run in the team he was excellent. I don't think we can replace him for 17.5m in the current climate.

Lot of sympathy for Wimmer I don't think we have treated him greatly at all to be honest. He was excellent when he came in for Vetonghen in first season and was duly dumped the moment he came back. I hope he gets a good move if he does leave, if Southampton have any thing about them they will go after him when Van Dyke leaves
