Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to evaluate potential long-term replacements to goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, with a number of Premier League stoppers on their radar, 90min understands.

Lloris is into his 11th season at Spurs (his ninth as club captain) and while he has put in several top drawer displays in recent times, there also remains evidence of his understandable decline.

Italian media linked Wojciech Szczesny - a noted Arsenal icon and Spurs antagonist - with a move to the Lilywhites last week, and sources have told 90min that the Juventus goalkeeper has indeed been offered to them by intermediaries.

You can feck right off.

Personally I don't think Hugo is doing that bad, let's see how he gets on at the World Cup

The time is coming to replace Hugo no matter what he does in this world cup.

Would think it'll be addressed in the summer though

A bit of sick came up when I read that. Szczesny is a **** of the highest order.

I think we should have a bit of respect for Lloris who has given great service over his many years at the club. We should feel fortunate to have stability in that position with a world cup winning captain.

If we are looking at bringing in his long-term replacement I would consider involving him in that process and seek his input.

Yeah, there are some things you just don't do in football.

Putting 'our Ches' in the sacred Spurs shirt is one of them.

Respect, yes. Been an excellent servant and captain for us. But we can't be sentimental. When we think we need to upgrade we need to do so and IF an adequate replacement is found that could be soon. However I personally don't see too many candidates that fill me with much confidence (inc Meslier who people seem keen on, and certainly not Szczesny). Also not sure what input he could have in finding a successor. Being a good keeper is a different skill to scouting one, but I'd hope we were open and honest with him.

Someone recently posted a plot of all PL keepers showing their shot stopping + distribution stats. Meslier was one of the worst at both.

This advice does not work with girlfriends. They get all funny about it.
