KWP really enjoyed his goal, he's definitely got that inner spirit to be successful, he just exudes it.
Yeah you could see him trying to stifle a big grin when he went back for the kick off. Made up for him, hope he gets a few more chances this season

He's had more game time than winks did in his first two debut seasons.
I think he's in poch's plans.

Erik, I can't see a thing! I dunno, why don't you open your eyes?
Hey, Sonny, have you got a special goal handshake for when I score? Look, Moussa, we need to talk about that.

Skybet paid out on the £20 I had on Lamela at 9/2 to score the first goal, then took the money back about a half hour later.

VAR you're a shit**** and I hope whoever the referee was in front of the screen catches a flesh eating pox on his knob.

Poch has spoken about var

“I think we have the best referees in Europe or the world but I don’t know if this system will help them or cause more confusion. It is a game of emotion. If we are going to kill this emotion I think we are going to change the game.”

I think a paper said last month that refs get 97% of their decisions right.
That should be enough.

The refs are playing up though. Either because they hate it (and want it to fail) or because they don't want to get a decision wrong and pass it up they will use it every opportunity.

All the VAR decisions were wrong to me, but some of them could be down to me being unsure of the rules now.
The first one for the Llorente foul was wrong and Llorente was the one initially being fouled.
The 2nd one, the foul on Trippier started outside the area and how many times have I seen penalties not given as the foul started outside the area. Rule change?
The disallowed penalty, I thought the correct decision should be a disallowed goal due to the area being encroached, and a warning to Son about the run up, then the penalty re taken.
Mouse was barged and that should have been a penalty.
A lot of controversy to me and it's a good job the result went how it did.

Hope you appreciate the fact that I rated this “winner” but then changed it to “funny” a short while later :p

I’ve always thought the only chance VAR has is if we adopt a similar system to tennis and cricket.

Teams get maybe 2 or 3 challenges per match to use any way they see fit, with the captain making the request to go to VAR.

It won’t stop incompetent refs from thinking Llorente commited a foul, but at least we won’t have refs second guessing every decision they make and the game stopping constantly with every single goal not being able to be celebrated properly.

Agree about Rose (looking heavy and somewhat disinterested), think he exudes a smug undertone now, which almost makes me hope nobody comes in for him (so he has to crawl back to Poch next season).

Bastard Danny, I really liked you.

I don' see too much wrong with him imho.

Ref was completely lost tonight, why did he send half his time with one hand on his ear and one hand in the air like "speak to the hand cos the face ain't listening"

Discussing the feint/stop now. When they paused the footage, there are are 9 or 10 players in the box as Son strikes it (5 or so before he stops). Jenas says as a player you'd consider that a feint, Foy says it's a stop.

When this sort of thing happens and there's no VAR, when do they usually blow for encroachment? before or after the player strikes the ball?
After according to the laws. Retake if penalty is missed if encroachment is by opposition or retake penalty if scored if encroachment is by players team.

I agree with the penalty thing ultimately. After a clarification of that law a few years ago a penalty needs to be a fluid movement, faints like that do not count as a fluid movement. The yellow card and free kick seems harsh to me but the law is the law.

VAR was a joke though, the first goal was probably legitimate, but definitely wasn't a clear and obvious mistake.

Similarly for the penalty, it was not a clear and obvious mistake and a free kick should of been the accepted. Crazy.

My main question is over the timing or importance. They've decided that the feint is more important than the encroachment, even though that was the first offence. If they stop the video before Son alters his run there are several players in the box. Should that equal a retake regardless? If they stop the video when he strikes the ball, after the feint, there are even more players in the box. So they ignore that completely, chalk off the goal and book the taker. It feels wrong to do that.

First they take your money, then the world. I saw that on Terminator when Skybet spread its tentacles.

I enjoyed the game before. Ref gets a decision wrong live with it.
I want to watch football. We have little enough of it is in 90 minutes, we don't need even more time wasted.
