Is he the best striker out there? Hard to say for sure but we didn't get Dembele who we were in for in January and we didn't get Michy, although I think 30m as a fee and 100k a week wages were too much for someone who wouldn't always start. We do need at least one new striker. Sanabria has been mentioned too let's not miss out on them all.

Nothing to do with the fact suppose that player like Jannsen will have a number of clubs after him. Other media in france have said that PSG has been talking to AZ for some time, but the player has told PSG in the last few days he doesn't fancy them, so maybe we have one less important competitor for his services. Id also like to sign a good striker soon

I'm with Levy on this one. If you work off the principle that 1 in every 2 signings are going to be bad signings (and that's being optimistic compared to the mega rich clubs) then there's every chance that we're wasting money pushing the boat out to get all of our targets. He won't pay that extra money because the one thing he can control is value, and so value is his main priority.

It's a model that's been working well for us we must agree on that.

He was fat when he was a professional athlete so it's no great surprise he has let himself go after being retired for 15 years.

He was a good keeper though. I remember the Everton home game in 85 (i think) where he made an amazing save from Falco near the end. Cost us the title and we faded and finished 3rd (sound familiar!!)

Anyway hope we pull this signing off. Ive never seen him play but he has a great record for his first season. Im quite happy with another second season syndrome striker, similar to Kane last season.
