Damn now that MoPo has said it publicly. ....I'm nervous. Feels as though we've been quietly going about our business in the midst of Leicester's surge and the goons and mancs being favourites. It's getting harder to ignore us now so the pressure is really on, here's to our lads keeping their feet on the ground.
There is a massive difference between can and will.
MoPo is giving the team permission to achieve, If the team continued with the "we won't win the league" the winning mentality wont be there when we need it. Remember "To Dare Is To Do" and it looks like the lads are ready to dare.
It sounds to me, behind his less than perfect English, Pochettino is talking in general terms. That the players have a general belief, that's just confidence, which they should have.
Watford at home in the recent past, with a bit of pressure on is a classic banana-skin fixture for us. It was tough, but we got the 3 points all importantly.
It felt to me like this was a game of great significance.

Absolutely. That was exactly the type of game we have historically slipped up in for as long as I can remember. We seem to be properly focussed on the points now instead of the relative merits of the opposition.
Amazing times indeed, but also time to keep our feet on the ground, and sometimes numbers help.
Looking at last season's table we are only 5 points better off than last season. After 25 games we had also won 13 games, but lost 8 and drawn 4 in 6th place. So, although we have been much more convincing this season and have a far better goal difference, the difference in numbers is basically turning losses into draws.
Last season's table also tells us that 48 points would have seen us 3rd in the table last season 11 points behind runaway leaders Chelski. It might be a good idea to remind ourselves that we are 2nd and in contention for the title due to being great, but also due to the Skyfall of the Sky Four.
We are well good enough to challenge for silverware, and by all means let's go for it, but we have nothing to gain by stepping out of the underdog role. I'll be over the moon if we finish in the top four and do well in the EL/FA, but let's stay humble with our young squad that is being built for the future. Let's keep the pressure where it belongs - on the leaders, the Citeh and the Gooners.
