Maurcio Pochettino’s Spurs — who finished second in the Premier League last season — will kick off their new deal from 2017

Erm......

Why would anyone read the Sun?
Media just trying to stir things up.

Are Chelsea more than double the
Size bigger than us? Marketing wise. I always thought they were of similar size, even given the trophys they have won in the last ten years

If Levy feels that he has negotiated a satisfactory deal then who gives a sh*t whether Chelsea has obtained a bigger one. It's great for a media story and no doubt the Chelsea fans will love it but if it helps to fund the new stadium then that's the important thing.

completely underwhelmed by Nike - think they make boring kits, and have never forgiven their piss-taking ads when that Judas bastard moved to the goons.

Wish it had been Adidas who I always though made the best kits but hey ho

Don't mind they have a bigger. Understand say Man Utd having a huge deal. Just not Chelscum having more than double than us

Chelsea as a commercial brand are far bigger than us.. they have a big fanbase in Africa, Asia & America.. The Swiss Ramble blog done a piece on Spurs earlier this year & compares our finances with the other clubs in PL.. The Swiss Ramble may be a Gooner but when it comes to someone who breaks down the finances involved in football it's a great blog .. well worth a read

does it really matter if its a deal that helps propel us forward?
The kit will be fine and look even better when they hold a trophy whilst wearing it

Chelsea's global brand and commercial revenue blow ours out of the water, they acquire massive sponsorship deals and have done for years, why would we be suddenly competing with Chelsea financially? Is it really a surprise that we don't come close to the top five clubs in terms of revenue opportunities?

We are bridging the gap slowly and that's all that matters, a deal with Nike like this is great news.

In terms of kit sales, Chelsea sold 910,000 shirts in 2014 and were #4 among all clubs behind ManU, Barca, and Real. We didn't crack the top 10. I doubt we did even a quarter of that. If you travel around the world and look at the jersey vendors you can always find United/Chelsea/Arsenal/Real/Barca but rarely if ever Tottenham.

Either way the Chelsea deal probably involves some shady Russian money laundering anyhow.

Let's tell everyone we've got no money so that we don't get ripped off on transfers......it's all part of his war propaganda so that we can pick up more dele alis. Levy is a smart bloke.

The aim for us is to get another top 4 finish next season and build our brand. We have had quite a long time of under achievement. If this deal helps pay for new stadium and we start getting consistent top 4 finishes then I think further down the road the next deal will be better. Chelsea have had 10 years of these finishes or more. I think it's a gamble by Nike on Chelsea as they are out of top 4 plus Addidas seemed happy to let them walk. I would like to see the breakdown of the contract and how much of the £60m is success based.

Nike will be compensating 40m of the penalty that Chelsea has to pay to Adidas for breaking contract early. That is part of the deal. So, deal should be around 50 or 55m. But anyway, who cares.
What we should be happy about is how our kit deal has improved from UA. I guess Nike deal is 40 % more on our current UA deal. We just look at our growth & not be fussed about others.

It has always pissed me off in my decade plus in various Asian countries that I don't see Spurs merch on sale.

Puma, Under Armour, whatever, only ever seen Adidas or Nike stuff till recently when Puma polluted their shops with goon stuff.

Personally I doubt those shirt sales numbers, independently verified? Reckon some funny stuff going on there. Romans bought half of them. Perhaps they did sell their Yokohama shirt before the season started, but since they tumbled down the league I haven't seen a single shirt on my travels here in China. A big contrast to the year before. Seeing more and more Real and Barca, Bayern, the odd goon or manc, but no CFc whatsoever. Doubt they will sell well this preseason in Asia, they care about face in these parts, and wearing one of them at the moment just don't cut it! Ha.

And another thing, rather than saying what a great deal we've struck going from UA @ £10mil a season to Nike for £25mil those phone tapping lying ****'s at the Sun have to take the piss out of us. The meedja hate us over here & I'd Keegan love it if Poch turns us into a title & trophy winning team that has a dynasty even Man U would be envious of.They'd be quitting in their droves rather than writing nice stuff about us.Cock Wombles the fucking lot of them.

finders on coys: for the first time ever I have some itk on this one. I'm told it will be 25m then an additional 10m for each year we qualify for the champions league. It doesn't go down if we don't qualify so it will keep going up in theory.
