Time for Avb to bury the hatchet with Ade because Defoe or Bobby can not play up top on their own or time for a change of formation.

The one thing that has really not impressed me with AVB is the issues he has with certain players. Obviously he's not the only manager who does this, but if you're going to fall out with the best left back at the club, and one of only three strikers we have, you make sure you replace them. You don't leave yourself in a position where you're one injury away from having to rely on championship-level players like Naughton and Kane. It's a classic case of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

If Ade and Benny have been fucking about I don't blame AVB for wanting to stamp his authority, but he should be able to make a distinction between personalities and performances. On performances alone Benny didn't do anything to deserve being dropped, and if Ade can come back and perform like he's capable of frankly AVB should suck it up and play him.

If he had a problem with Adebayor AND BAE he should have dealt with one then the other later.

BAE is too good a left back to loan out and trust his job to a right back squad player, left winger or pulling Verts out of position.

Our defence has been through just as much transition as the midfield in the last 2 seasons, some continuity and reliability is needed.

The good old 442 could still serve us well, if Ade is fit I wouldnt be opposed going;

Lloris
Walker kaboul Verts Rose
Eriksen Sandro Paulinho Townsend
Ade Soldado
Against Villa

The longer he doesn't play the better he gets. Let's not kid ourselves, he was truly abysmal last year. I also don't agree that Soldado can't play up front on his own

I agree with this.

If AVB wants to create an ethos in the club that certain players don't fit then so be it.

But, you have to replace those players. We all know Defoe's limitations. If we're going with one up front then we need a real alternative to Soldado. Ade, if on form and focused, is perfect for the role but if he's not going to play a part then we needed to bring in someone who can do the job.

Remy and Michu are both capable of playing the role and can also play AM. The kind of versatility that AVB likes. Not sure why we didn't go for one of them. Surely we could have got Remy on loan in exchange for BAE.

Very true cos last season Ade was playing out of skin week in and week out . If Ade sorts himself out, then i fully agree.

I wasn't aware that there was a hatchet to be buried between the two of them?

I was under the impression that Ade got way behind the rest of the first team squad due to missing a fairly large period due to personal reasons and was therefore asked to train with the development squad whilst he caught up?

I understand he's now back training with the first team squad now that his fitness levels have improved. I haven't heard either say a bad word about the other.

Thing is, it's so hard to know what's really happening.

Players and managers are media managed so well nowadays and less likely to speak openly to the media. Anything they say gets taken out of context and misconstrued by the media so it's not really worth them speaking too much.

There are exceptions of course. Rose opened up about is grievances on Twitter.

Ade though is very good with the media and talks a good talk. He's unlikely to speak badly about AVB while still at Spurs unless he's agitating for a move.

I don't know if they have a hatchet to bury. Maybe Ade is simply getting back to fitness and can make an impact this season. I really hope that's the case.

Ade must be laughing his balls off at the moment

Why? Was he watching a highlight of all of his performances last season?

Got to love spurscommunity when something goes wrong. The solution is always to play the bloke you said was shit last week. I call it the 'tainio effect'.

442 is how football is meant to be played .

Much better to watch with two upfront .... and wingers who can get to the bye line and cross it back on either foot .

One upfront away maybe , but at home , not thanks .

Not sure how you can say 4-4-2 is how football is meant to be played. When was the last time anyone won the CL playing 4-4-2?

He is still a better option than Defoe..

I can see why BAE went. I don't think he fits into the style of how AVB wants to play, and last season I said many times he looked on the decline. Not replacing though...

Adebayor on the other hand needs to be brought back into the squad, and quickly, because he is needed to give us a different option. Soldado and Defoe are too similar. I mean its hardly much of an option if we want to sub one... 'Ok one midget poacher who doesn't get involved much in the game isn't working, lets throw on exactly the same type!'... Or even in the two league games now we have been chasing we have thrown on both of them, hardly any variety to the attack there.

Ade should be on the bench at least right now. He can replace Soldado if we need a different type of threat, or even partner him up front and see how they go as a 'little and large' duo.

I was shouted down all over the place for keeping faith with Adebayor so haven't mentioned him recently but, I know it's a big If, but if he can regain the motivation and form that we know he posses then he is a fantastic striker and a completely different option. There is no doubt in my mind that whether or not he starts, if he is in our match day squad then we are a lot stronger and have the ability to mix up our play a it. One thing is for sure, I choose Ade over Defoe (in terms of ability) every day of the week.
