I know there is a thread, but it all seems to have gone quiet in there!

I have still not heard either way from TC about Madrid away. As I've never bought a ticket through them before, I was wondering if this is normal (should i have heard from them if I'm unsuccessful?)

I have 363 loyalthy points so realise i am 5 short, but was hpoing a few more tickets would become available because of cancellations.

Nah, cut off for Thomas Cook was definitely 368, the 500 odd was for ticket only.

My mate, who was on my application, is in the same boat as the OP - he was short of the cut off point and also was hoping for some returns.

What's even more fucked up is that after they notified me he didn't make the cut off, they have charged me for both applications, sent me an itinery with only me on it.

They are also not picking up the phone or responding to emails.

I'm in the same boat. Short of the required loyalty points but haven't heard either way from TC. They haven't taken any money from my credit card but they have not removed the trip from my account history (which they did when I missed out on Twente trip).

I live in hope but fear the worse.

Call the credit card company and tell them, they'll refund it and take it up with TC

I'd actually prefer if they sorted out the trip for little George, rather than refunding the money.

you could always just buy a ticket off a tout for the entirely reasonable sum of £2,800!

http://www.livefootballtickets.com/...-v-tottenham-hotspur-tickets/madrid-9098.html

(near the bottom of the page)

I've never seen anything like that and can't believe anybody would actually pay it!?!

I've got tickets in the Madrid end for him at face value, we just need to know whether he will need them (in which case he needs to sort out a flight as well) or not.

It's the not knowing and not being able to make alternate plans if necessary that's the fucker.

It was more little George that was trying to get hold of them - sadly we're both busy at work this week, so not sure if he has tried/how many times he tried/how long he attempted to before giving up.

I might advise him (apart from having plenty of beers and sleeping with loads of prostitutes) to try again tomorrow.
