We have had a lot of managers which are demanding in a way which might help breed this anxiety. Trying to convince the players that they are actually, I dunno, not terrible and that they should maybe enjoy things a little more might go a long way, though it is the opposite instinct of what a lot of peeps would like to see. This psychological element wont be fully fixed for some time mind, if ever.
This sounds very much like how Brendan McCullum and Ben Stokes identified problems in the England Cricket team. That the players weren't shit, they were just playing with huge amounts of fear. The solution there was to take all the pressure off, to be ultra aggressive, and not to hang players for taking the risk and it going wrong.

Obviously football isn't cricket and there isn't four and a half days to get back into the game, but I wonder if this little end of season period shouldn't be used to try something along those lines.

I believe he got 4 out of 6 last time, now I don't even expect 3 wins out of the 6.
3 or better with how this team has been playing and behaving this season would almost be a miracle by itself.

Have a vision of him walking out onto the pitches with balls, training tops & cones, the players just having a kick about before he sets things out, just like the managers in the local league I used to play in (many many years ago).

If he can get the players to want to play for the remainder of the season, then regardless of results, he would have met my expectations.

play the youth instead, the whole first team is acting like resigned employees counting down for their last day at office (n)

And with the news coming out that they expected Ryan to replace Conte, we can safely assume they downed tools under Stellini.

Before anyone tries to be the white knight and defend them, just remember that no other team in the modern era of the EPL has ever conceded 5 goals in 22 mins. That’s almost a textbook definition of downing tools.

September 2019, City vs Watford, 5-0 in 18 minutes.

Went on to win 8-0

If you subtract their celebrations and the restarts its probably less than 15 minutes.

Really hope he is doing well in this impossible situation. Last time, he disappointed massively with his team-selections, but in all other aspects he impressed me.
