This season has been one act of self harm after an other for this club, and it’s hard to argue that putting someone with as little experience as Mason in charge hasn’t been one of the worst acts of them all.

Not going to hammer him for not being a manager and getting managerial decisions wrong, but my God that was a tough watch tonight.

He is either out of his depth by playing the likes of Winks, Dier and Dele constantly or he is being told to. If it’s the former, then I worry about which players will still be here next season.

Any notion that Ndombele was dropped for footballing reasons are dead to me, I'd have accepted it just being Lo Celso but honestly, either Mason played his friends in Dier and Winks or it was forced on him. Either scenario for me means I don't see a future as a manager for Mason if that's his personality, this isn't just down to inexperience. You could have watched football for only 12 months and seen the problems on the pitch today, to put that down to inexperience. These players were not playing for footballing reasons. I wish we could find out what the situation is that has those players playing ahead of Rodon and either Ndombele/Lo Celso.

Out of his depth, but it’s not his fault. He was brought in as a bit of positive PR by a chairman who desperately needs some good press.

This mess is all on Levy.
