No, I'm sure someone mentioned a "Van" clue in relation to us a while back.

And didn't Redknapp say we had enquired about VDV previously, only to be told he was to pricey or something ?

this is the one i remember, and it was about arsenal

Been told that Fab should be ours as others have said. Also (remember agent talk), been told that we want another French Player. Apparently opened talks already.
I was told over a month that French player to spurs and we got Gallas and now they are saying trying for one more. I don't know if its the agent that wants the move or spurs interested.
I personally believe its Diarra as it would qualify the statement of Harry's reunion.
Again for arsenal - a "VAN" - Dutch player
and Milan interested in Kuyt as i have already said few weeks back.
Interest also picking up in Hangeland.
Another titbits: Maybe two strikers for Spurs - one is Fab and the other

something is bugging me re the VDV transfer.

I believe that Bayern were buying him for 18m right up to the last day and suddenly backed out, so why did his price drop to 8m? i'm pretty sure that they would have gone back in for him and snapped him up if his price dropped by 10m in a day so why didnt they?

This brings me to my second question, if levy found out about his availability with only 2hrs to go of the deadline (harrys words on ssn) how on earth did he have a medical?

Did Bayern find something in their medical that made them back out of the deal that we dont know about??

Something in there just dosnt add up?

Real Madridc have rubbished the claims that Bayern were in for him.

You can sign a player on terms that he passes a medical. So he could still be waiting to have his medical.

First off Real have denied this, secondly I think that the deal for Van der Vaart was because they wanted a replacement for Robben as he needed a op, this turned out not to be the case so therefore they pulled out of any deal

all hear'say I know but at 8m thats a pretty safe risk, considering Milner 24m Ireland 8m, Raul Mereiles 12m Gyan 13m Smalling 11m Yaya Toure half the economic wealth of Cote d'ivoire. so and so forth

Mickeys could not raise Tom Hicks when they got the VDV call

he had stood down thinking he was no longer needed as the Carlton Cole deal had fallen through Levy was very fast out the blocks ...there are rumours we got a peak at his BM medical results ?

Who are the "mickeys" and what's his "BM" medical.

Aaahh maybe. cheers

Yup. "Mickey Mousers", or it's derivative "Mickeys", is rhyming slang for "Scousers".

Having listened to Harry during the initial realisation that we may have bagged VDV during the last two hours of the window, I'm trying to put together the sequence of events as disclosed by Harry on departing the Lodge.

He said that by all accounts we had signed VDV for £8m as a consequence of Daniel Levy being informed of his late availability for a knock down price. At one stage alledgedly it was to be a season loan until Real Madrid pulled out of the deal late.

So my question is, is this a Levy signing, in his capacity as a DOF, with the acknowledged agreement of his Manager, or had they originally discussed this player as a possible and then dropped him earlier in the window because of price? VDV's re-emergence as being possibly available was Real Madrid's recontacting any club which had made an enquiry?

Levy then getting hold of Redknapp to inform and basically get his manager's nod of approval before moving like lightning to secure..

It is intriquing to say the least.

Also apparently Liverpool couldn't move in for him as their owner Tom Hicks had signed off for the evening and they missed their opportunity...

This in one hell of a coup and I have to pay homage to the swift movements of Levy in pulling his team together to make an instant decision to act to secure the services of a World Class Dutch International.

Hats off to Mr Levy once again. A top notch striker in january and we could be a serious force to be reckoned with in the CL. Assuming were still in the CL by then of course.

He himself said "four years at Tottenham for 11 million euros".

So I reckon it's 4 years. For 11 million Euros in wages.

You would guess that Harry had discussed all transfer targets and players that would improve our squad with Levy at the start of the summer, and maybe we enquired about VdV after those discussiony but were put off by the price, so when they needed to shift him they were quick to call all potential suitors for him. Meaning Levy could quickly make the call to Harry and get the deal through.
