Huge rumours on big kevin macdonald resigning from swindon town and tim sherwood to replace him. I would imagine it would be les ferdinand to replace him as les was the final three interviewees for the job along with kevin mac and ian wright. No big loss as les does not do very much.

I would really hope if we do get benteke for 20 mil that part of is with add ons, but I don't think it will be. 20 mil really is a lot of money. If we do sign him for that then the 'wing forward' will be rrelatively cheap unless we offload a few. Saying that, I wouldn't mind seeing Sig as the left wing forward, think he can do a job there.

Regarding the potential news of Ferdinand leaving; I wouldn't care too much. He's a striker coach and look how that's panned out...

He was a striker coach and then he got promoted (I guess) to coach

I fully expect 3-4 players this season to be in double figures for the league. Obviously our front 3 and Paulinho I think will be a revelation for us in terms of a goal scoring midfielder. It's important to make sure our final '3rd player' in the front 3 has enough goal scoring nous about him.

I'm drunk I forgot I even made this post and it was about 2 minutes ago... But I would like to agree with my original post, great points made.

Bale will, I think Ade with a pre-season behind him will, I don't know about Defoe though.

So during last season pray tell just what other player waiting in the wings would have added his goal return? Huddlestone, Carroll, go on fill us all in on the little gem?

You might as well name any other player in our squad that has cost us a "conductive and cohesive attacking play in the final third", that line is just throw away bullshit. Whether Dempsey features in the future or not (and i don't really think he will) he has been a good player for us in what was a transitional season under a new manager. One who was selected more often than not by AVB. Oh and do you seriously think that Dempsey was brought to the club to do the fucking "donkey work".

Not the thread for this discussion but would happily take this elsewhere to tell you how wrong you are.

Oh and yea, I really alluded to Huddlestone and Carroll playing a wide forward role as the solution - Blimey!

So, talk of Sherwood or Ferdinand going to Swindon, off the back of the ITK last week regarding an 'unofficial' arrangement with them, are they effectively becoming a satellite club/nursery for us, and have we 'suggested' any replacement manager comes from us to ensure the smooth link??? OK, to clarify on Dempsey. Talking about who might replace him is one thing. Talking about how he did last season and trawling through the same bollocks as has been argued to death almost every week since we signed him is another. There's a difference.
