You do get the feeling he enjoys the tease don't you. If I was ITK I'd be a total whore about it. I'd be trying to incur nervous breakdowns on here everyday.

Fair point. I think QPR matched what he was on but in his mind no matter the offer he would have considered it crap as it meant leaving Spurs. We can all respect that to a degree.
Although I'd say it makes him sound less a villain, rather just a little sad. Deluding himself a bit, fighting against the inevitable.
I agree with your last sentence and SS57's appraisal - but it doesn't alter the fact that to compete for a place in the top five we almost certainly need an upgrade on him and at least two of our other centre backs from last season. Moving him on will do his career a favour, too.

It's sensitive because we need to shift some players. If we sign MM, he'll be the 6th Centre back in our current squad and that's without including Fryers or Veljkovic. Dawson has to go and maybe one other.

Exactly, if we sign him great. If we don't I'm not going to lose sleep over not signing a player the majority of people had never heard of until we were linked with him.

Am I the only one who's a little concerned that, if the players people are talking about leave, we'll be left with a squad with very little 'Tottenham identity'? I mean, if Daws, Sandro and Townsend leave, who's left who is Spurs through and through? Lennon?

Depends how you define Spurs through and through.
You could argue that we have been left behind recently by holding on to average players in an effort to prolong our English 'spine'.
Time for a new generation to come through, me thinks.
