Many seem to think that Baines is a very long shot. I'm not so sure.

Spurs it would seem have more money to spend and Everton would need a replacement for Baines if he was to move. So how about cash and Rose for Baines. On top of that Spurs have a range of quality players that may not be getting the playing time that they'd want to have in view of the recent incomings. Defoe and Siggy come to mind. Everton might jump at the chance to add any of these to their squad.

We have the elements on hand to make a deal.

The question now is whether or not we want the player...
Was thinking something similar myself. Maybe with so many players coming in with no EPL experience and ITK suggesting Levy things the price for FC is too high that Baines is a serious target. Everton could get some inexpensive replacements and maybe even a quality loan player from us

It looks like AC (or at least Allegri) want Kaka to return to Milan, I would imagine that would greatly appeal to him.

Ozil would be the one for me, imagine Eriksen, Ozil, Lamela behind Soldado. That right there is a pants accident waiting to happen.

Come on guys, no disrespect to RT and I now that Joel is held in a reasonable esteem but this has come from that site and you are all guessing based on it. It won't end well for you

Going back to the St. Riker thing, have we all reached the conclusion that its most probably one of the following ? -

CHRISTIAN Benteke
Rodrigo ( the saint, Spain things )
Lambert ( Saints )
Jackson Martinez ( clause and something else ? )
Hulk ( SAINT Petersburg )

That right there makes us a title-winning team.

I think age would be an issue. Aside from R.S. all the signings have been significantly younger than Baines.

If we sign yet another huge player my head will explode.

Absolutely amazing and crazy that we're going to buy more.

I can't stop smiling at the moment!!

The fact that it is from twitter makes no difference to the reliability of the info.

If he had posted that on here, many people would not be questioning it. Twitter is just a website, yes there are some dicks on there by Ryantegan has personally vouched for it and therefore I am inclined to believe it. Maybe that is stupid but a man can dream, right? :)

V.Interesting point but I wouldn't want to give them Rose. £14m, Benny and Carroll on loan for a year would be a very good offer IMO.

Gylfi could very well appeal to Martinez. Still don't think we'll get Baines and I'm not devastated about it. Would be a good signing but he's not the only good LB out there.

Great couple of days coming up. It's gravy from here. Hoping for a couple of good squad additions to round everything out at LB and striker. A chance we might "blow the bloody doors off" is interesting but not heart-breaking if it doesn't happen.

Joel is a member of the THFC Captains' Club and seems to be pals with people like Paul Coyte and Daniel Wynne. Has connections at the club.

He was talking about a club takeover this time last year. I wonder if that if anything to do with anything?

For the record, Ive met Joel a few times and he certainly isnt a bullshitter. Has some very top sources at the club. He says he hasnt been told the name, but he has been assured that the announcement is huge

So we're getting Coentrea for LB

Any CF isn't going to be better/bigger than Soldado, so isn't likely to be a CF

Process of elimination therefore says it would be a LF/LW - a Willian alternative. Someone like Muniain, Draxler, Griezmann or Dzagoev.

Has to be a striker.

We now have more midfielders and wingers than you've had hot dinners!

Either way, I feel faint!
