I've made my feelings known on Moses, what's the point in getting rid of average players like Townsend if we aren't going to replace them with someone who is any better?

Just looks like a quick way to make a few million quid at the expense of progress on the pitch.

f

He isn't a clear, cut and dry upgrade on any player we have and his flaws are significant. If we got to the end of the window and we were completely unable to to find a winger or had a group of long term injuries and still needed someone with some pace then Moses as a last ditch option may be viable.

But, we aren't at the end of the window and (from the ITK) we haven't exhausted our options yet so there would be no reason to move for him now.

If we get to the end of the transfer window without the players Poch needs i'd be fucking amazed, bewildered and will kiss A&C's ass on both cheeks.

Townsend is surely a better long term prospect than Moses... not to turn this into a discussion about who's better.

But for me, it doesn't make a lot of sense to go after Moses because it means we'd be looking to get rid of Townsend. It's a lot of trouble for a like for like replacement.

Pretty happy to hear the ITKer think that Moses isn't really a goer.

Victor Moses is like 7 months older than Townsend and I would argue he's had more success in the EPL than Townsend at this point.

I'm not for the Moses signing, but I think that is worth mentioning.

Based on what ?? Your hate for townsend? I dont prentend to be a big fan of andros but at 24 moses have achieved sweet fa.whilst having more opportunities in the prem.some people just crave new signings even if they are more cack we will be struggling to shift this time next season.

Probably based on Moses' good performances and goals playing for England?

oh that was Townsend....my bad :D

I am a little confused. We have itk saying the victor moses talk is bs so why are we talking about him and comparing him to townsend?

If you want to do that there is a victor moses thread or a thread for townsend.

Neither Townsend, Moses, or any other fucking Chel$ea, Liverpool and Stoke reject is going to add to this team sufficient talent to take us into the CL.

End of.

Plenty of Chelsea rejects I'd take that would improve us. De Bruyne for a start.

We've already lost out on Schneiderlin so I guess you'd better pucker up while A&C drops 'em.

Every year we seem to get links with these "used to be good, there's a player in there somewhere" types, your Micah Richardses and such. And every year we don't sign any of them. Surely just agent bluster on Moses.

I've got some ITK I had a letter from the NHS and after waiting 3 years my bunions are being shaved.

Plus I'd add Moses is clearly agent talk.

I had a dream we sold Ade, Vlad, Townsend and Carroll. Signed De Bruyne on a perm and Turan on a 6 month loan from Barca, which would then turn into a turan for pedro perm swap kinda deal in January. Then i woke up, came on here and saw more Victor Moses talk. God what a fucking blueball that was.

Moses may or may not be an upgrade on Townsend - I think he would - but the extra 7 million pounds would definitely be welcome as it could mean extra quality in other parts of the pitch.

We have far more pressing concerns. We already have chadli, townsend, lamella, pritchard, yedlin and lennon to cover the wide areas. We need a striker who will turn up and can score. At the moment if kane gets injured we will struggle to get mid table.

Gotta disagree there, Baz. We have some quality there, but unless we address our embarrassing lack of pace on the flanks, we will continue to be unbalanced, too predictable, and entirely too easy to contain - even by the small teams. Yes, we absolutely need alternates to Kane, but addressing our winger problem is no less important. Ridiculous we've allowed it to fester this long.

My hate for Andross? Please do elaborate on this so I can also be aware of it.

And Victor Moses is the answer?

Without Kanes goals last season we would have finished 3 points above relegation last season. Ade is mental and Soldado can't score. Yet you don't think a backup for Kane is a priority? Also the problem isn't so much pace. It is not moving the ball from defence to attack quick enough. This is why Mason came in. He drove us forward. Teams sit back against us anyway so pace isn't that much an advantage especially how far up the pitch we play. A bit of trickery is required. Pritchard will help with that. And Lamela needs to stop running headlong into defenders. The pace we use is the fullbacks. They are also used to give us width.
