Am I correct in thinking that out of the 11 players who started against WBA, and the three substitutes, only one of them was purchased in the Summer Transfer Window? And that was Dier, who is just covering the RB position while Walker is injured.

Is this acceptable given the season we just had? This time we made a profit of 10 million in the transfer window, despite bringing in another 30-40 million in TV revenues. We were heavily outspent not just by the top clubs, but by midtable and even promoted teams.

I'm not intending to bash Levy/Enic here, because I think that they did a very good job growing the club and eventually getting us into the CL. But it seems to me that they're no longer very serious about backing the manager or about building a team that can challenge for honors. You don't do that without making some investment in top quality players, which I absolutely think that we have the money to do. Perhaps they would argue that they're being frugal in order to fund the new stadium, but we've found out that this is likely a long way from even getting started.

I think it is pretty obvious that our team last season wasn't good enough, and that we haven't done much at all to address the deficiencies, so that makes me question the ownership in terms of their strategy and their interests.
