He's got talent. I really hope he knuckles down at Brentford and builds himself a career. If I was putting money on it though, I'd be more inclined to say he slides down the leagues into obscurity.

I would assume we will put a 1st option to buy clause in. We all know he’s a player that could definitely come good. Be madness if we don’t.

I'm not sure we would. Think he's annoyed people at the club, and both parties wouldn't be inclined to have him come back.

Really does seem like last season was too little, too late for him. Best move he could get last year was a bottom-end Dutch team and despite working hard he clearly hadn't developed a great end product after years of bad attitude while training in our academy. Now he's desperately hoping to get a move to the same level he couldn't be bothered with 18 months ago. For his sake I hope he turns it around but for now he's a cautionary tale to the younger players: work hard from day one or your dreams can completely slip before you know it.

Brentford is a very good team (especially if they keep Maupay) and I believe they have a big chance of getting promoted next season. They play good football, Marcus Edwards would fit in well there

Maupay and Benhrama are both leaving so not sure where that leaves them going forwards.

I think to say he has a bad attitude is harsh, he's clearly a very introverted kid who struggles outside of his environment and that manifests itself in all different ways - eg. what happened at Norwich, not wanting to go to training.

Some people just don't have that real drive/personality and I do suspect that Edwards is too comfortable being a kid in London hanging out with his mates and football is kind of just a game he is good at, and I hope he doesn't realise too late there is more to it than that to have a career at the top end of the game.

However I do think the club hasn't got everything right with him, ultimately he might have made it/might not but with his raw talent and tricky personality he probably did need treating a little differently and in house around the first team was the better place for him.
