Regarding Trippier. We bought him for peanuts right? I have idea what his "true" value is but if Pochettino wants rid and Levy has accepted that the number one priority right now is to make space for new signings.

Then perhaps all this attention around Trippier stems from a relatively low asking price. I really can't see a club like Napoli throwing vast sums towards someone like Trippier.

What do you say? 10m? I'd take that.

I haven't seen a lot of ndombele apart from the games he played against citeh and he looked class in them so hope we can get him.

That van de beek has a face that needs a bag over it truly annoying rubbery plasticky looking so no from me :cautious:

I reckon we'll get £25-30m for him.

Although he's had an awful season, he's still an established England international and people wouldn't have forgot about his world cup performances.

In hindsight, what a missed opportunity to have sold Trippier last summer window, reckon we could have gotten around £60m for him after that World Cup! (n)

I'd imagine a deal for Diarawa would be on the table. They're probably valued about the same.

Could have gotten 100M total for Trippier and Dier. Now? Half that?

He’s not coming

I think Bale will leave on loan as nobody is going to match his wages. Where he goes is anyones guess, but I don't think anyone should rule us out as Bale, not Real Madrid, is holding all the cards and I think his agent is enjoying this immensely

Bale's agent gets on very well with Levy. If Bale is guaranteed to get all his wages (which he would be on loan) then he chooses the team he wants to play for and I believe that will be a personal decision. Why wouldn't he want to come back to Tottenham?

Financially I think Spurs would be happy to pay a significant part of his wages as it would be a one year liability and I'm sure they will be able to more than cover the costs with increased commercial opportunities of having Bale back.

You also don't disrupt the wage structure at the club as technically he's still being paid by Real Madrid.

It's like the Adebayor deal, but with someone the fans actually like!

You can be happy to play a player for the rest of the season as he’s the best available option, but still consider moving him on on the summer the best option.
Yes, but point is if he wanted to keep KWP then why not play him. So by Trippier playing now it means KWP isn’t rated either no?

He'd have to cut his hair if he comes back to Spurs. Don't want him otherwise...

(Edit: It's a joke, calm down Kettering Spur....)

A loan is the only way it work for us IMO. Massive wages and recent injury issues would make an outright purchase very risky and blow our wage structure to bits. If he's crocked all the time they can have him back.

I am glad Herc is sharing info again and it is always appreciated. Given we haven't gotten one player signed in three winows, a "slim chance" likely means no chance, probably because the fee is too high and we won't spend the money. Hope I am wrong because Ndombele seems perfect - This summer's DeJong.
Two windows; summer 2018 and January 2019.

The no signings thing is taking on a mythical status now. People write as though it's the norm for us not to be active in the transfer market. It's not. The last two windows are massive anomalies for Tottenham under Levy. It's not that long ago that a long-time member here (possibly @Rocksuperstar) was saying he'd lost his connection with the club because it felt as though he was supporting a player trading exchange. That's not indicative of a club that makes few transfers.

We will buy and sell multiple players this summer. People will then go back to complaining about them being the wrong players or that they were signed/sold at the wrong time or whatever. C'est la vie.

In hindsight, what a missed opportunity to have sold Trippier last summer window, reckon we could have gotten around £60m for him after that World Cup! (n)
Why would we have done that though? He'd had a good season and an excellent World Cup. Selling him would have made no sense whatsoever (unless of course you're only interested in achieving maximum value, a stick usually used to beat Levy with).

I suspect that Poch rates KWP's potential but thinks he's too physically weak to be trusted right now. He barely featured at all this season after he was absolutely bullied by Antonio in the cup match against West Ham. He's still a young lad an will develop physically over time, and with 5-10 pounds worth of upper body muscle he'll stand a much better chance of matching up with Premier League wingers. That would explain why he never gets selected but also why he's been kept around.

Definitely agree with this. Though personally I think if this is the thinking then wouldn’t he have been better out on loan? Perhaps Poch feels he would get just as much of a beating in the championship and wants to nurture him and protect his confidence until he (hopefully) fills out a bit.
