I'm amazed at how people peddle a story fed by the club... Do you remember the fancy term used towards the end of that season " no one will be sold who we dont want to be sold".

Its apparent to me that City approached us early enough and we liked the idea as Poch felt Trippier could do a job and then that line came about.

Try reading Kyle's version of events as Well before calling him a penis...

What I'd do to have him back right now..

If we could get Bale for 30/40m, would you accept him??

News is Zidane told him he won't be playing next season (same with Dani Ceballos)

Yup its obvious who the real dickhead is in that scenario.... We haven't been as strong defensively since he left. Was a top RB.

Read posters views on Pereira from Leicester city... He is who we should have replaced Walker with.

I'd genuinely pass up the opportunity. He moved on and we should too. The Bale of old with blistering pace is perhaps long gone. We got the best out of him and good money too. Lets go scout and find some real young talent who we can improve sell on and continously reinvigorate our squad.

We have Harry Kane missing upwards of 10 games a season, we dont need to add another player who has the same problem.

I'd pass on him. Don't think it would be a good fit. Can you imagine Bale pressing or doing donkey work? I can't nor can I imagine his body putting up with it. He made his bed... Plus, I have no desire for more technically challenged players (cue the horde). Plus, looks like we're getting rid of 1 one-footed, injury-riddled lefty so no reason to replace him.

Go young and on the 'up' instead of old and taking a step 'down'.

'Young and on the up' wins nothing though

Every squad needs an experienced winner. We have no one. Bale won 4 Champions League. That experience in a team like ours is invaluable.
Plus he's only 29. And he played more games than Kane this season

I think his injuries are exaggerated because RM is a disgusting club.

If he's available for 30/40m, we're going to regret it if we don't go for him imo. That money doesn't get you anyone capable of doing what he can do

He could even do a job as a backup striker if needed

Good points, especially the potential backup 9 as well as right side and the experience. Hmmmm

I would ask if he has the teaching/experienced pro mentality to impart those lessons? IDK or have an opinion just asking since he has always been described as introverted even pre-RM.

And considering his paypacket that 30-40M fee is a really high number that RM stand no chance of getting as most clubs that could afforded just the wages have no need to take the risk. I can't imagine we could.

That said, your thoughts have made me reconsider the strength of my initial negative take. Damn you Ossie!!!! ☺

If Eriksen leaves, Van der Beek would be a fantastic replacement. Obviously it's not like for like, but VdB has a great eye for a goal and assist. I'm going to assume we also have a reasonable relationship with Ajax, given all of the past business we've done with them. Our players from Ajax have all been successful so far.

Worth a general football chat to name best 25 man squad from outside top 6. As I wouldn't want to steal your thunder I'll wait for you to create it

Schmeichel
AWB Maguire Ake Chilwell
Moutinho Rice
Richarlison Madison Zaha
Wilson
No wolves players

I'dwelcome Bale back in a heartbeat but at the right price and as long as he had the right attitude. Son, bale and harry on attack? Talk about flourish! who could stop that group other then injuries? Would also relieve Harry's burden, open up space side to side and behind the defence. And he would certainly add to the sense of calm for big games. While he isn't my top choice but one I would gladly accept.

So the Lo Celso rumor is real. Good time to go after him with the newly signed contract and all instead of the cheap loan with option to buy last summer when Betis took advantage of it. Let's just hope it's not too rich for our blood now as that would be typical. Still would have Brandt ahead of him though. This good news might give @Ghost Hardware a semi though.

I swear to god, I'm going to log on this forum in 2032, click on the transfer thread, and the first thing I'll read is people still pining for Modric and Bale.

You know how people will go do their weekly shopping and see something is on sale, they'll never normally buy it but fuck me it's on sale and at the same price as the thing you actually wanted but that's fucking full markup? Why buy something full markup when this is on fucking sale. That's how we got Aurier for 25 mill instead of Pereira for 25.

I hope the days of Tottenham shopping in the bargain bin are over. If we need a CM, my wishlist is a proven good one.
Kante.
Well-known qualifications. But being played out of position.
I understand the realities of wages and dealing with Chelsea.
But need to stop buying players based on potential and resale value - and get the best.

Definitely on our radar great player- well done the Sun the old dartboard trick!!

Cheers for the tid bit JJ, very good player. Underused at PSG, and now showing his potential at Betis. Only issue we might have is that he just signed permanently with Betis, like Jovic has with Frankfurt.

Hopefully this doesn't push his fee too high, but Betis aren't exactly flush for money so a chance to double their investment on him (£40 odd million) must be taken into serious consideration. That's also a reasonable fee for us too.

The Welsh national setup always sing his praises in this regard. He also puts the work in, in terms of pressing.
