I did see the player's comments but still find it hard to believe the club would pay that amount out I'm sure levy would have tried to renegotiate a much lower bid which would have seen the deal fall through but thankfully now we will never know.
The conclusion you want to draw is that levy is a tight **** and so he could not possibly make a big signing.

But then when there is possible evidence he would spend, you assume your conclusion is true and say « nah he could never spend big so there must be some alternative explanation. »

Until he spends big money you will never be convinced that the will is there for the right player. Fair enough I suppose!

Do we think winks and tielemans would work in a 4-2-3-1? For Leicester he plays in the 4 infront of a DM

Tielemans is definitely a realistic signing

I really, really want Jack Grealish. Not only is he class as fuck, but he just seems to have that bit of grit about him, and from all reports his leadership at Villa has been excellent this season. Looks a lot more mature than the callow, arrogant kid that he seemed a few years ago. Genuinely think that not only would he fill a need, but he would be great under Pochettino and an excellent addition to the squad.

Winks has been better in a better side than Tielemans this season.

I mean, they're different types of players and all, but why do we always underrate our own? Not that I'd be against getting Tielemans btw. He looks decent, although I don't think he was particularly good today, misplacing simple passes on occasion, and I think he and Winks could play together. I actually thought Tielemans looked better when he was in a more advanced midfield position, anyway, as opposed than the sitting role that Winks plays

All fair enough but not much help when Winks seems to be absent more than he is available.

I'm guessing you mean more?

If so, that's literally incorrect this season. As I said, I think he's be a decent addition to the squad, but if we did add him, 'on current form' he shouldn't be ahead of Winks, who I think is better.

Rating someone higher doesn't necessarily mean you're underrating the other player. I rate Winks highly, I think he's a cracking player and he's a Spurs fan to boot, I just rate Tielemans higher. That's football, everyone has different opinions.

At the end of the day, I don't really care who plays as long as we're doing well. Sign Tielemans and play whoever is in form. I'll be more than happy as long as we're winning.

Thank you for pointing out the typo, edited now (y)

I didn't say, and don't believe he should be ahead of Winks in the pecking order. Winks is an unbelievable talent & we sorely miss him when he's not available, full stop.

But that's the problem, and what I was referring to. His availability, or lack of it. It seems he overcomes an injury, comes back into the side, gets sharp, shows us what we've been lacking & how important he is to us, gets another injury, rinse and repeat.

I still think winks tielemans can play in a 2 against the majority of teams at home. Why do we need Wanyama or Dier at home to Brighton?

Can you gaurentee me that any new signings would have got us CL semi and 3rd? I don't think you can
I can gaurentee you buying nonone would, because we have.
I'm not fishing for a row.. Just appreciate what this squad has achieved please and stop all the ott negativity
Keep it real.
*Did not would. Not looking for a row either but how familiar are you with probability? I'm guessing not very. We could repeat this experiment a thousand times and 999 of them may result in a different outcome which would not justify the choice. You understand that right?

It was well reported MP turned him down in Jan as he doesn't fit our profile/system. I wonder who does in MP world :banghead:
Remember it's all about attitude for Poch, he's probably seen something he doesn't like about Tielemans, preferring the grit and spirit of a Grealish.

I want Spurs to get Grealish no messing about and make serious attempts for Rabiot and or Ndombele . Our wingbacks will need total reconstruction its a fundamental way in which Poch wants us to plays we must find solutions on both flanks. We need to address the amount of defeats we've suffered this season. We need to address our midfield control without Dembele now gone, Winks (injuries) we sacrifice Eriksen and Alli. We must address the amount of goal scorers in the squad too. There's a lot to do this window realistically it doesn't look likely we'll be able to do them all.

I’m going to get shouted down for this as he’s not fancy enough but Kalvin Phillips would be a great addition. No real weaknesses, good tackler and passer, still young, and HG too. Also has a long raking ball into the wings in his locker, plus abyear of Bielsa would have prepared him for Pochettino. With Leeds probably screwing up in the playoffs, he could be a very clever signing and a long term partner for Winks.
