Dream on.

Agree - he's got Jorge Mendes written all over him, and (having had a window into how that guy works) there's no way we're going to get anyway the player, though it would be great.

I really think we need a new strategy with agents. I might hate it, but unless we play the game we'll continually disadvantage ourselves

Honest question here, who would you prefer? Given our potential financial constraints:

Sturridge on a free or Mitrovic for a fee?

If they are going to be used as back up for Kane, I'd rather have Sturridge to be honest.

Available on a free and homegrown. He has what we need for cameos and possible starts when Kane is out injured. Could use the money elsewhere too.
We already have Lamela, Wanyama, and to a lesser extent Rose who all find it hard to keep fit. Why would you want to add another player like that? Madness. Sturridge is just treading water before his careeer fades out.

I understand the point you're making, however:

Wanyama - Bad injuries, Could still come good
Lamela - Double hip problems, probably won't ever be as fit as he was
Rose - Injuries, nothing to major and has been fit as a fiddle recently

Sturridge doesn't need to arrive and play 90 mins, but as someone alluded to earlier he's cameos for Liverpool haven't been the greatest which would be my main concern.

Overall it was just a thought, and I highly doubt Mitrovic would come here to sit on our bench and play here and there when he could start for any team outside of the top 8.

Like Dan said, I'd prefer to keep Fernando if anything.

I’d rather we moved for Joao Felix who has apparently been on our radar for a while, although after last night I think he’s now on everyone else’s radar too unfortunately
With a transfer fee quoted at 105M you can safely say that - regrettably - he's out of our league already.

If its true and we had scouts watching him not sure why we bother when we know his buy out clause is £106m?

I don't dislike Sturridge, but he hasn't been convincing in his cameo appearances for Liverpool.

Mitrovic for me, as long as the fee isn't too high.

What would you consider too high?
Think he would cost at least £30m??

£30 Mitrovic
£25/30m Sessegnon
£25mGomes
£35m Tielemans
£40 AWB
£35 grealish

Would be a good shopping list imo
With likely sales we would be around 90m in the red

When Llorente came on the other day it reminded me how useful he is. He was really growing on me when Kane was out, we’re really going to need a few goals from him now.

Me too, he seemed to get better and better the more he played, regained match fitness. Really hope he can hit the ground running this time.

I wonder if Parrott will get involved again with the first team this season - under 18’s are battling for the title and he is their main man.

Would rather keep Llorente and see Parrott promoted instead of bringing in an injury prone Daniel Sturridge in the summer.

Several players on both sides that fit our ethos. Far too simplistic to just think it's 1 or 2 players.

Scouts as I know it (I have spoken too a few), are sent to watch specific players and you will hardly ever have a scout watching more than 1 or 2 players in a match. They have to write detailed reports on each player, which means they need to focus on a specific player.

If we were watching a few players on both teams, we would be using match footage first, to determine targets to scout in person which usually gets watered down to 1 or 2 players.

That's how I understand it, but I might be wrong. This is just what I know from being around scouts myself and the conversations I've had with them. Our scouts may have a different system.

Regardless of our reason for being there, I highly doubt we would be scouting a player that's got a buyout clause of €100m and is being watched by Europe's elite.

Sorry I should've said my point in a better way. I agree with the whole only going to watch 1/2 players, but just naming 2 players and thinking it's them is too much.

Realistically it could be any of;
Ruben Dias
Grimaldo
Joao Felix
Cervi
Rafa Silva
Rebic
Jovic
N'Dicka

That's without the Benfica keeper too who has massively improved since his Stuttgart and Panathinaikos days.

100% agreed, To be honest Grimaldo and Jovic were just my picks out of the bunch.
