This was our chance to win something, not just the title but a UEFA Cup, FA Cup or League Cup and the fact is that yet another talented Tottenham side finishes supposedly a successful season with no silverware. What grates the most is that we have been here before during the Redknapp era and we making the exact same mistakes again.

Agreed but this is not unusual for us to be close but not deliver on something the hope is that the future might change this pattern only time will tell.

May be over this season, but it doesn't mean we won't ever challenge again. On our day, we can beat anyone in the league. In fact, United, Liverpool and Stoke are the only teams we haven't beaten under Poch. And that might change in the next 2 weeks. Our squad is still the youngest in the league and we have multiple players who have the potential to be world-class- and a few that could come under that category already.

We could even challenge next season, where we should be even better, hopefully with a few top-class additions.

Having seen anti-football Leicester today they are quite capable of losing 3 games. The real mystery is how they have managed to get in this position. We must not give up.

Agree. They are the favourites of course but do not give up. If we were 7 points clear you all would not be certain that 'it's ours' at this stage.

Liverpool won 11 in a row prior to collapsing with 3 games remaining. Everyone said 'it's theirs' and fully expected them to finish the season with a 14 game win streak. City on the other hand were in the background winning their games. We have to replicate what City did that season and try and win all our games, starting with United on Sunday.

I think Leicester are doping personally, I am not trying to sound like sour grapes but they just don't run out of energy and how are they suddenly scraping 1-0 wins every single week?

Something very suspicious about the whole thing, if they go the remainder of the season unbeaten is nobody going to ask how?

I'm not going to use the term that everyone hates, but for me, unless Leicester mightily mess up, this season is final proof that the footballing Gods don't like us.

For years we've waited to have a title challenging side. Finally, through clever long term plans such as investing in youth from the Arnesen times and building a great training facility, a lot of trial and error on the management front, and some excellent scouting of players, we've ended up with a fantastic squad.

This is a squad rightly lauded as the best defence, the best tactically, the youngest, fittest, bravest and most talented.

That this came in a season when Man City are in flux, Chelsea mightily messed up and ManU still haven't recovered from losing Fergie has made this the perfect storm for us to win the title.

But the footballing Gods couldn't do it. In this one perfect season for us, they got together and got a bunch of journeymen, rejects and nobodies, managed by a manager who most thought would get them relegated, and got them to have an amazing season, one that defies belief, and take that title from us.

Unless Leicester mess up and give away the title, this is the ultimate proof that the footballing Gods don't like us.
You're mixing up two pretty clear things.

You say we've wanted a title challenging side - we got that. That's in the bag.

What we didn't get was the title and I dare anyone to find a Spurs fan who was asking for that at the beginning of the season. Moving the goalposts mid season doesn't make this "Spursy" as some would call it. In fact you'd easily say several other teams have been far more "Spursy" than we have. Especially Liverpool and Arsenal.

It's funny that fans can look so negatively at 2nd place when we've been so mired in 5th. Simply because a team we didn't expect to be 1st is.

Yet again on balance of,play and chances they are second best, but take the points. They also got the key decisions again.

Still, to be just seven points off the top with six games left represents a massive step forward for our club and you never know.

Looking back, letting Sanchez in for that dreadfully disappointing equalizer meant Leicester never really felt our pressure.

And that moment might yet prove pivotal in the race for second. But lets hope not, and the lads remain equally motivated till the last kick.

The pattern won't change until the club rids itself of it's qualification culture, where silveware becomes it's primary objective each season instead of the Champions League.

Speaking to a mate who supports Liverpool. Even he says we're the best team in the league, the problem is we may well be that now but you can't say we've been that all season. And while it's been a valiant effort to make up the ground it was just that bit too far. We haven't had the luck this season either you need to be able to win the dam thing.

Oh well.... But for christs sake, we HAVE to come above Arsenal.. We can't let that slip. That would just be gutting. And then we go again next year.

Sour grapes is exactly what that sounds like. They've won the league because they've found a way of not conceding and being probably the most clinical team in premier league history. Hats off to them, they deserve it.

We are virtually guaranteed to finish in the top 3 this season - THE TOP 3! That is an amazing achievement - we are finally being taken seriously as title challengers for the first time in our premiership history. Let's all take a step back and be happy at how well we are doing. We still could win the title, we may not - either way this has been a triumph for the team.

I'm very proud of them.

another uninspiring victory for them.. well.. they are happy and do not care anyway.. even chelscum at their worse are still playing some good football worthy of being a champion and yet I loathed them then.. now these foxes have hit the bottom..

congrats to them thus far, but Vardy is still a disrespectful fucking a**hole with a stupid diving act..

After being one of the worst at conceding and one of the unfittest sides in the league just 12 months before with no major changes...

Gotta be doing something real nifty over the summer. Next season at least 1-2 of Liverpool, Chelsea, City, United and Arsenal will be directly involved in the title race again, a season like this won't happen easily again for a while.

People have been saying this every year while ignoring the fact that we have a young squad with the potential to keep improving and competing.

Oh well, we have the youngest squad in the league that is only going to improve and a fantastic young manager and most likely champions league next season.

There is nothing stopping us from going for the league next season.

I don't think we are the bravest or dare I say it, the best tactically. Ranieri has that particular title sewn up this season!
We've not deserved it ( so far )
When the real pressure was on we have not responded. Champions don't look at rivals and moan that they keep winning. Spam, goons, yesterday, toon, Leicester ( both games ) Everton ( complete domination ) are 7 examples where we should have taken more than we ended up with.

Having said all that I'm still not giving up completely. West Ham, Chelsea, Everton and United can all beat Leicester. It's highly unlikely and would be a mental run of results but in terms of genuine quality, Leicester aren't better than them.
The way they are playing, with their belief, desire and will suggests that it's probably 95% in the bag for them

We'll end up finishing 3rd and it's going to feel like a disappointing season. I'm simultaneously proud yet devastated.

Could be 10 points ahead by the next time we play. I worry that our performances could suffer with the league out of sight.

Just praying we don't get complacent. If we finished third below Arsenal now it would be horrific

teams are never lifted to games against them it seems.. Southampton seem to not have gotten out of 2nd gear for majority of the match? are they not proud to gain some points over potential champions? :ROFLMAO:
