A woman in the office was asking about the cycling today. She watched it with here son and neither of them understood what was going on. I suppose it's great that the sport is drawing viewers but I wonder if the commentators missed a trick not trying to explain the tactics (or maybe they did??)

I only saw about half the coverage as I recorded it whilst being out by the roads for most of the day, but from what I did watch they did explain a bit, but it can be quite confusing for a total noob I guess. I think Hugh Porter is a much better commentator on track cycling than road cycling, though, and not a patch on Phil Liggett on ITV. You can probably excuse them a little in this instance as they seemed to spend most of the time having to try and work out the times between riders themselves because there wasn't any information coming through.

Just a query, which sport has the most High or Low Fives? Volley-Ball or Doubles Tennis. I find it incredibly annoying.

I think it must be in the rules of doubles tennis that the players touch hands inbetween every point.

Loads of tickets gone on sale. Site is so slow at the minute, 15 minute wait to find out if tickets are available. Ridiculous. Might as well get yourself online as you may have a chance.

Picked up 2 £50 tickets for Athletics on saturday earlier. But now it looks like £50 tickets on sale for athletics including 100m, 200m final
Dude. 4 tickets for the 100m final purchased. Thanks for the heads up.

I have tickets for the rowing but I've rowed since I was 15. Looking forward to it. My wife and two girls weren't. They'll be chuffed with this result.

I'm waiting on the requesting ticket page for ages. Had 100m final tickets in my shopping list but I suspect they've gone.

Although Saturdays tickets could result in Ennis and Farah winning gold, so over the moon with that anyway.

Yeah. Hardly a bad haul that. Saturday could be an epic night.

Wowsers. You know you click links, give it a go and then forget about it almost immediately. Not this time! SCORE! My girls are going to be made up and at least now they can shut up with the moaning about being dragged to the rowing. :D

How long are you waiting? I'm having a look now but didn't make note of what time I hit the request button. I'm sure it's been more than 15 minutes now...

The timer wasn't changing, I backed out and tried to request more. But all of the cheaper ones have gone now. Most of them are around £300 now, I'm not really in a position to spend that amount of money.

Never seen the website as slow as this in the last few weeks, looks like a lot of people have jumped on at the last minute saloon

I finally got an approximate time to wait, but it's been fluctuating pretty wildly. It's just like the queue on the Spurs ticket site, really.

China starting to run away with it. Seems like they win every weightlifting and diving event.

US better pick it up in swimming and dominate athletics. TBH, China will probably win the medal count for the foreseeable.

this is fucking disgusting, i'm appalled and devastated tbh. complete lack of decorum from our "friends" across the atlantic.

apologies if discussed/posted before, decided not to make a thread in general chat incase of this.

NBC still shows all the major events in primetime on tape delay. They are really pissing a lot of people off. I know most of the results before I see them because I refuse to stay off the internet for six hours to watch some swim race.

So fingers crossed we can get a couple more medals today. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing how the women's gymnastic team get on later after the exceptional performance by the men yesterday.

Laura Robson playing Sharapova later today. Sharapova can be a little up and down sometimes so it could be a chance for Laura.

Would appear to be all about the equestrian today. GB going for gold in that, currently 2nd, behind the German's.

I really don't follow this but I remember the German's and USA being really good in this at previous games.

Hopefully our first gold!

Not that I am knowledgeable in this sport, but living in Germany and having other people within family who are a bit horse mad, this is the German's to lose, they are always formidable in this event and in Germany it is expected to be there first Gold medal of what has up to now been their worst start to an olympics in quite some time.

Think they are most upset with their pool displays so far (tbf Addlington aside, so are GB).

Fencing yesterday was Germany's first medal and that nearly didn't happen!

Rowing 8's should be another German banker... but anyway, to your post, any medal in the Equestrian would be a very good effort considering the quality that there is, so I am told.
