It looks as though the stadium is all but signed and delivered. Our Match day income will go through the roof (no pun intended), the TV deal will bring in a fair wedge too.

The only thing letting us down now, is the commercial side. Man Utd for instance have an official noodle partner. Ive lost count of how many sponsorship deals they have, but its around 100. The training ground, the training kit, everything you can think of can be sold to the highest bidder.

I hope this NFL tie up allows us to get some much needed deals in.

I'm delighted with yesterday's stadium news but one wonders what we pay Donna Cullen, and her team, for. If they had any sense then they would have delayed the news until next week (before the start of the Open) when it would not have clashed with the Budget, start of the Ashes and Wimbledon quarter-finals. Then the story would have been the major sports news item and received far wider coverage

It was still well publicised, my only thought is that we announced it to make us look more attractive to players, might help turn some heads from rejecting us to having a proper look.

Surely the next step is to put pressure on London Underground to open up Northumberland Park depot as a functioning station? I remember reading it would cost £50m in conversion costs - with the amount of passengers regularly going through there and the value to local residents it would surely be cost-effective? The only part of the match-day experience I really detest is getting in and out of Tottenham. This would be the icing on the cake.

I do agree with this. Yesterday, it was frustrating wading through budget news, Ashes talk and the Wimbledon latest (important as they are). But I do suspect that it was FOR this reason, that the news was announced. Sometimes in PR, what you want is little fanfare. Less attention. The reasons why, I'm not sure.

The best way to do this is success on the pitch. If we are winning trophies or getting in the CL the commercial will grow. Unfortunately there are few trophies and bigger teams and we are currently on a tight budget. We need some luck.

Will be Cross Rail 2 going through there.

Yes, TfL money mostly irrc. David Lammy was keen before it was kiboshed by the Tories in City Hall including gooner Boris. I understand Crossrail will be going through Tottenham but connection to the Underground system will give north Tottenham real chance of success in regeneration.

People in this country know all about us but it was a slow news day in North America which makes it a perfect day to go public, I'd guess.

That's because they just cold call companies for sponsors....I have a buddy who's a man u fan, who's sister works at Polaroid, she got a call from man u asking if they wanted to sponsor or something, she got him free kits, and tickets to the game vs Madrid in Michigan last summer, they tries to send them on a private plane but they turned down for some reason.....what boggles the mind is that manure does all this at the same time they are half a billion in debt

Brilliant from Levy.

Public transport the only issue but the project will force the hand of authorities.

How's this for a foray into commercial deals?

Our very own Andros on the front of Reg Transfers.

That's right, the stellar read concerning everything personal number plates.

A 2 IS NOT AN R ANDROS.

Considering the 'car shown is for photoshoot purposes only and is not owned by Mr Townsend', it was a bit rude of him to put his personal plate on it.

I think this was covered off in a recent THST publication? I seem to remember TFL flat out refusing to add another branch to the Victoria line as it would mess up the sequencing of trains for relatively little benefit.

TBH I think with the overground running to WHL and the two tube stations just about within walking distance we are sorted for transport anyway.

Its been on the agenda for at least 30 years, but always been knocked back - Network Rail wanting to retain the sidings and to put extra rails where the platforms will be to put more capacity in rails to go north.

I thought it was killed off 10 years ago and was surprised that Harringey put it into their long term plan with a ? beside it.

IMO as the stadium goes forward and lots of additional homes being planned and built, the pressure to build the Victoria line into Northumberland Park depot will increase, but whether its enough, who knows and when it might occur - there are always more possible decent projects to fund than funds to build them, and this may be one of them, Sadly

Not on your nelly

The capacity and frequency of the trains going to WHL station will be massively increased under TFL, with a re-designed platform/entrance allowing easier access for trains full of fans. Plus the idea is that with the HRW redevelopment there will be more fans hanging around after the game rather than leaving asap (tho clearly that will apply less to evening games).

Maybe I'm being naive but my understanding is that this had all been worked out in respect of the previous planning application? Plus the transfer of the line to London Overgound wasn't announced until after the previous permission was given so that should be able to accomodate the extra 10% of fans under the new proposals?
