Poch is a great manager, delivering in the toughest league in the world and getting us to the CL Final last year- a miracle when you compare our resources to some of the clubs we were competing with.
No club maintains a relentless upward trajectory- there are times of stagnation and going backwards- but in his first setback people want him to leave? Madness. Replace him with who? Someone else who is then fired as soon as he suffers a setback.
Stick with Poch and keep him at all costs, he will get us moving forward again soon.

"No club maintains a relentless upward trajectory" We have been on a downward trajectory for something over a year now - this trend isn't going to stop anytime soon with Poch.

"Stick with Poch and keep him at all costs, he will get us moving forward again soon." This sound more like blind faith than optimism - either way, it's flawed.

Right now he is delivering a shower of shit that he can't even comprehend and you honestly think that he got us to the final of the CL? Luck and ridiculous opportune moments got us there and big doses of it too. Poch was merely a passenger at those pivotal moments. We were soundly beaten by Ajax at our ground in the first leg and by the grace of Moura we sneaked in at the very last. Poch can't take that much credit for getting to the CL final!

He got the best out of them consistently and we only had one way of playing. As soon as teams just sat deep week in week out we struggled. He's never really had a plan b and I'm ok with that as long as you persist with a working plan a.

As for the transfers. He said repeatedly he would only but players that would improve the squad. Well in his view that consisted of only 4 players. That in itself is laughable.

we've now got apparently 6-7 wantaway players that are the problem causing trouble etc. Yet he's still playing all of them week in week out. The players are unhappy and it's more than those listed numerous times in this thread. We'll there are more than that and we will need an entire new side to eliminate the issues at this rate.

I've never seen or heard of a manager that's managed to turn a squad round from this position before and I doubt very much he will now.

Ok so Poch goes, do the want away players suddenly want to remain? My feeling is this is far more than Poch. The poor activity over the last 2-3 seasons in the market including a whole season getting nobody, 3 summer signings (two injured) aside the squad feels stale and troubled.

A new manager may come but it feels like the squad itself needs a full reboot.

Feels like the best possible solution is that someone else (Madrid, United) are so desperate that they make Poch an offer and pay us some level of compensation.

Can't see Levy paying £25m+ to terminate Poch's contract and the contracts of his staff.... Too big of a hit, especially considering that Eriksen, Verts and Toby are also going to be 'written down' to nil when they leave on free transfers at the end of the season (a serious piece of mismanagement by Levy btw).

Unfortunately, the majority of performances over the last 9 months aren't going to improve his attractiveness to the likes of Madrid or United - and last night's result is a serious blow to his reputation.

Hard to see what events trigger a change unless results (and league position) get so bad that it forces Levy's hand to the point where he's prepared to take such a significant financial hit just to be done with Poch.

You're spot on. I do not envy Levy on this one. So many different factors and moving pieces to take in to account.

I'll preface this by saying i'm an avid Poch supporter, for the last few months as the calls for his sacking have gotten louder and louder i've largely ignored it.. or even spoke in his defense against some people on here.

The worst part about last night was reading posts about him needing to go and finding myself increasingly agreeing, I think it's time for him to go and i'm sad about it to be honest but i dont see how else this gets better.

Don't get why the people still blame Levy for underinvesting. We are not Citeh, Barca or RM. We have to be smart on the transfer market and in developing our academy players. We have done neither for a couple of years. The players are not good enough? Well, perhaps the gunners have a better squad, do they? Or Leicester? We could've sorted some things out 9 (NINE) months ago when Poch refused using the funds during the winter TW. That was ridiculous as he had previously mentioned that he preferred to bring the players to the squad during the winter's TW as he needs a time to prepare a player for his fitness and the system. We stop developing our youngsters. We do not let them go on loan. We are loosing our Academy. We bought two young prospects (Sanchez and Foyth) and what? Where is their development? I am afraid that Chelsea will beat us with their kindergarten as they really have a proper strategy for the youngsters with their loan system. It seems that I pay to much attention to our Academy. It does, because I cannot see us in top 4 without Kane. Now we have Parrot and Skip in our squad. Neither do not get a game time, neither is allowed to go on loan. It is likely that we are not going to play the CL football next year and we will need to replace leaving players. Chelsea did it with their academy players. I doubt we will.

So who is? Levy isn't picking the teams. The players aren't choosing the system to play.

Levy didn't just decide to not sign any first team player for 18 months for a laugh.

Although I'm sure Levy wasnt having sleepless nights about not dipping his hands in his pocket either

I don't think he will though. We can't afford a long term coach, times have changed now as we have moved on as a club from where we were.
Could prove costly to keep changing managers though. Alan Sugar did that and we never achieved stability.

If Poch were to go, Rodgers would be my first choice by a mile.

People slag him but he's a very astute coach imo.

And before people say would he leave Leicester for us, of course he fucking would.

He can bring their RB with him as well!

I very much doubt that Rodgers would join this season. I doubt he'd tarnish his reputation by leaving so soon after joining Leicester.
We all know what Levys like, he wont pay compo to get a tol manager in, therefore we'd end up with another coach with potential.

We demand "loyalty" when we're doing well and expect him to tell the best club in the world he's not interested in them but as soon as there's a rough patch he's not good enough and should be sacked.

Anyone calling for him to go is a complete hypocrite if they ever talk about player/manager loyalty again.

Yeah, things are bad. Yeah, Poch is getting it wrong. The players have contributed to the problems. Levy's contributed to the problems. But it feels you've all forgotten the 20+ years of a new manager every season and finishing 10th. As the song says, Poch DOES have that magic about him to bring the best out of a group of players and I'm confident it just needs time to refresh the team, integrate the new signings and settle the team again.

This is very concerning. Especially as I try and work out who they might be apart from the obvious 3 or 4.

So do we think that Zidane and Poch are doing a "who can get sacked first" competition.

Can't think of any other club that would stand by their manager with the 2019 record that we have had.

He has to go. It’s quite simple. I can’t imagine any other top club allowing their manager this much leeway with regards to the last 10 months of football.

We have been utterly utterly dreadful and yet he hasn’t changed a thing. All of us here can see the glaringly obvious problems and it is incredible that our manager cannot see it! For that alone he should be questioned. He is obviously still going to be in charge for the Brighton game and anything other than a win will be unacceptable and should definitely be the final nail.

i'm on the fence, but leaning towards him going, would be interesting to see the results leading to the end of AVB, redknapp etc, i know AVB's was poor, but aside from reaching the final i'd say poch's uis similar if not worse.
