Personal nightmare is Wenger finally leaving Woolwich, them giving Simeone the job and Atlético going after Poch...

I have doubts that Simeone at Arsenal will be anything short of a disaster. I mean, Simeone hates that passing the ball to death faff, he wants direct technical players and organised defensive players all with an ingrained winning mentality. Unless Arsenal are willing to spend big he doesn't have the pieces to be a success there.

He has, and he is definitely on the shortlist.

Barca don't sign managers based on trophies but rather on style, that much should be clear.

He probably wont go. But, unfortunately there is always a chance.
Have you seen it? Who else is on it?

Everything I have heard about poch(even before his arrival) was all based on his philosophy. He wants to build a club from top to bottom using that philosophy. He was on his way to doing that at Southampton until they pulled the plug, otherwise I seriously doubt he'd have left them for us.

I know that Madrid and Barca are huge clubs and would be hard to turn down, but he will never get the chance to change things from top to bottom(his way) at either of those clubs. He might well be able to go there and create a great team at either of those clubs, but he can't create a dynasty which is what he is thriving to achieve.

I believe he may have left them eventually, like let's say last season. The most he could have possibly done with Soton would have been a crack into the top 4. With us, he is likely to topple giants.

I know it's Barcelona but it's not a great time to go there. Messi is just about past his best, and due to significant financial problems they can't afford his contract demands. And looks like they'll have to sell Messi or Neymar for the money. There's an incredible amount of politics behind the scenes that would make life very difficult for the new coach. Iniesta is reaching the end, too.

I think the current terror situation in France and Paris in particular is a bit off-putting for a guy with a young family like Poch.
I really don't think that'll be in his mind. Most likely it wont happen though because PSG's project is not well suited to Poch' at the moment. Too many ego's I feel. Also PSG will go for Wenger, and Wenger is most likely gonna go. Though I feel Poch will definitely be a PSG manager at some point in the future.

I think you underestimate how much sway a wife can have on these sorts of things. Particularly to a solid family man, like Poch.

Maybe, but I don't think Paris is particularly dangerous at the moment, your still more likely to be killed by a truck than a terrorist in Paris. I mean its an irrational fear to be scared of such an attack, and lets not pretend such a threat isn't an issue in London.

Poch though, has lived in Paris and his son was born during his time at PSG. I suspect both Poch and his wife are well acquainted with Paris, and if they enjoyed it they might fancy going back. I don't think the tiniest chance of something bad happening would seriously affect their decision if they think highly of the city and if poch is offered better pay.

Seriously, I'd be surprised, family or not, if many here would not take the opportunity to relocate to Paris if their wage was doubled. Particularly if like Poch, they have lived in many different countries and cultures.

I agree with this, and hope it's true. We haven't sold our best players out from under Poch, which is the Southampton model. They are a decade behind us, but motoring along nicely, as we were then. Hoping that the prospect of making Spurs a European force would be a huge boon for a man just having turned 45. Barca and Real turn managers over rapidly, a good manager will get an option to manage one at some point in a 30 year career if they so wish.

Poch loves English players for their passion and "agressivity" wich is difficult to find in other countries according to his own words. New Spurs stadium is a huge pull so I can see him staying for at least 5 years.

Check out the last few paragraphs. Sounds like his wife might be the brains behind it all!

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/mar/10/mauricio-pochettino-tottenham-talent-loan

Pochettino was angry at himself last Sunday for losing his cool in the celebrations after Dele Alli’s stoppage-time goal against Everton put Tottenham 3-1 up. His players also switched off and Everton immediately pulled a goal back through Enner Valencia. Although it was too late to make a difference to the result, Pochettino brought up the incident to illustrate his wider point.

“I shout and I think the game was over when Dele scores and look what happens in the next action,” Pochettino said. “I went mad after Dele’s goal and I saw a message on my phone from my wife after the game. ‘Oh, what did you do?’ she said. ‘You lost your head when Dele scored? Never again!’ I was upset with myself. Why did I shout one minute before like this?”

Pochettino joked he had told his wife, Karina, who has not been to the club’s recent home matches, that it was “better you stay at home because we keep winning”. He added: “She always has good ideas for the team. When I arrive home, because she has been watching on TV, she says: ‘Why this or why that?’ She always gives the opinion but always after – never before.”

Asked about his future by Le Figaro, Lloris said: "My destiny is linked to Mauricio, it's a certainty.

"He matters a lot to me. Our relationship goes beyond football, it's a match, and one day he will be the best manager in the world. For me he is already. His presence and our relationship are the most important elements for me."
