You don't think they would care if we're in the Champions League packing out our stadium?
Very simple maths but they charge £20 for shitty ECL games right? Not in the STs so assume we sell 62,000 tickets at £20 that’s £1.24m

Now a big CL game the ticket prices will be between 50-90 roughly. Average around £60. 62,000 at £60 £3.7m times 6-8 games that’s a fair bit

Out of interest do any itk explain at the end of the window why half or a lot of the deals we are linked to never materialise. I may have missed this round up previously but I am not sure this ever happens. It would be useful rather then the damp squib followed by nothing but suicidal tendencies!!
Do you understand what ITK is?
Firstly, they may not know and secondly, what makes you think that they should explain things to us?!
They feed us nibbles of info where they can, from various sources but they aren't accountable for what transpires.

Genuine shudder. Stuff of nightmares.

The Goat investment news is nothing but positive. It shows we're either getting the stadium naming rights sorted finally (!) or there'll be a brand new part owner. Either way, unless it all falls through, there will be actual money to spend on the playing side. This is so much better than the 'overdraft activated' type news we used to live off.

If we are near certain that this investment is coming in then it's actually good we don't sign more second/third choice options in this window. The BCD listers just become tomorrows deadwood anyway.
Stadium Naming Rights have advanced, but they aren't close.

I think the situation is so fluid that Would have to be an extensive blow by blow dossier and tbf they probably can't be arsed with that. Plus no need for them to justify their info as they are verified sources

The flip side to this is that there's always an explanation for why things take so long and can't be done, yet other clubs go out and get business done without all this faff. I also work with multi-million pound contracts, in fact I had one signed in December. I agree it can take longer, but if there's a will then in my experience 95% of the time there's a way.

Spurs are listed 9th in the world by mid point enterprise value - https://www.statista.com/statistics...fessional-football-clubs-by-enterprise-value/

We shouldn't be having these types of issues. Certainly to the point where there isn't sufficient contingency mechanisms in place to allow some level of transfer activity, especially in our current circumstances.

Yes there are some knee-jerk reactionists on here, but there are also a fair few apologists too, at the end of the day we should be in a position to back Conte this window. The question is whether that's £50m before player sales or £150m before players sales. If the answers is neither of these then there was no point hiring him in the first place.
Have to agree and just wonder how Conte is really feeling. It’s plain to see that he sees the squad how we all have seen for two years and that it’s worse than he thought. Now there is ‘a problem’, halfway through the short January window, when he was promised funds, which now appears were not actually available. Or else where did they go and on what.
I can wait till summer for signings. Everyone is very frustrated because we had a taste of success but it was such a small taste.
Fingers crossed but, mostly, “Come on you Spurs”!!!!!

I have long hoped that by keeping the stadium with a rather forgetful generic name he has left it open for a buyer of the club to have their company’s name.

Otherwise, Levy has spent the last 2.5 years supposedly chasing a “record” naming rights deal. Meanwhile we have missed out on circa 30 million had he accepted a lower offer sooner.

Whatever he gets now, will unlikely make up that deficit of lost revenue.

NB accept I am speculating an offer has ever been made on naming rights.

I would imagine that makes negotiations with investors more complicated.

The Naming Rights would immediately add £200-400m of value to the shares.

It's a significant asset.

ENIC won't want to sell shares without that value priced in.

Investors will be mindful that nobodies actually met our price yet.
I'll wait until closer to the time and if I get any info I'll share behind the scenes but the £ would be far north of those figures I believe.

Look at clubs like Chelsea and others when they have a gap in the squad. They often get an interim option like a demba ba etc. It makes sense. Another player unless utterly useless is better than a paper thin squad with no options (especially up top). The lad from Brazil last season was pretty crap but still weighed in with some goals.
Excellent point, they do that because they are run as a football club first and foremost, not as a property development business like we are.

I do get that of course but If you hear that things are happening you may also hear why they did not. Just asking. Not having a go. It’s just every window is like a big cock tease (not blaming the itk’ers) and then nothing but blue balls. It would be interesting to know why it all led to not much. Ie don’t stop the threads on deadline day and have something of a post mortem is possible!! Chill

Not asking for justification on info just a follow up if they may know why we did sod all. Don’t see why that would be so controversial! Of course they may not know or be able to share which is fine

9 times out of 10 yes. I didn't in the Summer just gone because the managerial bollox had already driven me to despair.

Fair enough.
Sometimes, we will be given an update of sorts at the end of a window but nowadays, we have to consider how many ITKs we've lost, as well as the fact that the remaining ones can be hesitant to share too much now because of the massive over-reaction it can create.

This is why we find ITK so addictive and supporting Spurs so bloody hard.
- The first real concrete bit of news we have had of significant investment and we all feel crap as we just see it as another balls up by the club/Levy which could see Conte leave. Even the most optimistic amongst us can see this potentially happening.
- Conte may be understanding but what he understands is a worry. If we don't deliver him with something this window you can be sure United and others will be in his ear.
- However, with my positive hat on i hope that Paratici uses this to play his hand to the fullest. That Levy has to let him sell players at reasonable prices to get deals done for Conte.
- The suggested dilution of shares does sound like a good thing. It sounds like the only way Uncle Joe will "invest" monies into the club as it doesn't take anything out of his non-Spurs assets, plus i'm sure it will create a useful "loss" for him.
- This is also an easier way to get a potential new owner in. As some posters have pointed out we are now hugely valuable due to the off field success and getting someone to buy us 100% is going to be really difficult. But Jeff Besos (perhaps his ex!) or the like might buy in at 10% and get their company to sponsor the stadium. Get all the kudos without the unpalatable Enic pricetag.

Let's hope it works out! Thanks to the Goat! ?

We must be an absolute nightmare of a club to deal with, serial window shoppers and if we ever like anything you know we only want to loan it or get it for free. Running a club like this and pretending to have aspirations to challenge for CL or cups are incompatible.

I find it useful to read every panicky post in the voice of George Costanza. It’s remarkable how it fits so easily.
