Loan to buy again points to us being completely skint.
Disagree with this. I never had any dealings with the playing side of the club, but spent 3 years working on IT projects with them and they penny pinched constantly, even if it actually ended up costing them more. We offered numerous times to help re-design some of their IT architecture (for a cost) so that they could cope better with peak website loads, but they always pushed back on spending money as it wasn't in budget. One month (when we hired Jose) the website went down and then when it came back the peak load cost something like £20k for a couple of days hits due to the badly designed architecture. We'd previously offered to fix this for about £10k and they said it was too pricey.

It's a pretty naive attitude that the club has, in the short term it can help save costs, but a lot of the time it misses out on the bigger picture of costs being incurred. The above is just one of many examples like this, and I'm sure if they do this on the club side then they do this on the playing side too.

It doesn't mean that we're skint, just that those at the top don't see the value in spending a bit more up front when a few £ can be saved, even if it ends up costing them more in the end.

I don’t see much point in speculating. It could be anything, from naming rights, to another run at the super league. Point is, Trix can’t share it publicly right now, so we should all respect that.
Indeed, and I've shared with Rob, A&C etc so if it breaks and I'm not around someone should be about to confirm what I've been told.

Why would Wolves agree to a loan to buy?

I was under the impression they wanted to cash in now because they want to get a few in themselves.
It might be a matter of loan now and 20m in the summer or just 15m in the summer for example. His value will only decrease as his contract continues to run down. I'm sure we'll pay them more to get him now rather than in summer. It just means the payment is later.

Tinfoil hat time off of what @Trix said. I wonder if JL is “retiring” and Levy is working out becoming the majority shareholder of ENIC.
I believe the point of the meeting in the Bahamas was to discuss investment. If Lewis isn’t doing anything then the next best option is a sale of some shares in the club. Hope we get that because the way it is currently is not sustainable by any means & will only lead to Conte leaving, no manager wanting to come here & us falling further & further behind

Do I really have to wade through shit like this in this thread whenever I get a few minutes to spare from work? Take it to the enic thread so I can avoid it.

No, Matt Law actually said it.

'But, with available money in limited supply, the club may be forced to look at loans and players approaching the end of their contracts unless Levy can quickly attract outside investment or bring in significant transfer cash..'

I said this earlier, but people seem to want to bury their heads in the sand and seem to have forgotten we had a stadium empty for a year.

Why are people getting into a fuss about an obligation to buy? It might extend the negotiations a bit, but that isn't a big deal. Seems people are just impatient these days, they want everything instantly. Calm your tits and carry on :ROFLMAO:

I dont know how many more times this has to be repeated. The fixtures from tonight until the end of Jan are crucial to our season. Difficult games but also our games in hand.

We have key players out injured and a SQUAD showing its not up to it, especially when rotation will be needed in next few weeks playing twice a week.

It astounds me that people are extremely patient with this approach to wait until late in the window to sign.

There are people who see this - including Conte - as a gimme season. Given the farce of the Summer, the appointment and removal of NES (all a clusterfuck), I think we just need to breathe a bit - and take an even slightly medium term view of things.

Don't get me wrong, this is entirely is of the club's own making and they should own that, but you then don't compound the mistakes of the Summer by fucking up January too when the plan isn't for this year.

these few games can be the difference between being in the champions league or not.

Having meetings during the transfer window instead of weeks before stresses me out too, we should have been ready and focussed on these things. It just doesn't feel like there is an urgency that many of the fans innately have.

Can we afford a gimme season?
We already don't have money in comparison to other clubs, targets we have long "admired" will see this and want to go elsewhere. This season can really determine the trajectory of our club greatly.
