If Conte and Paratici are happy to be patient and wait for the bigger picture to unfold, then we all should too (but that’s wishful thinking considering the meltdown merchants in here the last 24 hours…)

Levy comes across as a ceaser type. Would he want a third party involved in the club or would they have no rights or say for their money???

The Goat’s bleat doesn’t sound like it’s saying that deal is dead, just taking longer than expected.

We weren’t fixing things anyway this Jan so if we can do enough to improve somewhat, push for top 4 and then go big when the new finances come in the summer, I’m fine with that.

I’m choosing to be a bit optimistic here because Levy is not an idiot and knows what happens if this deal/some financial input doesn’t arrive. We all want the same thing here.

Yeah I would think that it would be hard to get too much info on a deal like the Goat discussed. ENIC love an NDA as much as the next man, so they won’t be letting too much slip on anything financial. Amazed we got that in fairness. Good itk to get, although probably not what we wanted to hear.

The lack of cash is why I’ve been pretty relaxed about this window though, it’s always been obvious it wasn’t really there for sure. Hopefully whatever it is materialises, in the mean time we will just have to keep plodding on.

I didn’t say untouched, I’m saying the improvements we can make doing clever deals and shifting some deadwood this Jan should hopefully be enough to make a top 4 push.

We’ve already heard 3 signings have been promised to Conte, so that should hopefully be enough to tick us over until the summer.

Ok so just to elaborate a little on the Goats post.

The offer has been there for a while, but we have only moved forward with it from the point of Conte coming in. From what I'm told it's an outside investor and it's to do with a dilution of shares. I don't know much about this sort of thing so can't be more specific.

We hoped it would be done by now, but for whatever reason, and I believe due to the make up of the shareholding it was always going to be complicated and take time. FP and AC were both aware of this and knew it might affect January. Like I said the club hoped it would be done by now but for whatever reason it isn't.

I was told it was significant and all for transfers. Make your own minds up how much "significant" might be, as I honestly don't know. From what I was told this week it's still being worked on and that all parties are still hopeful it will happen.

Oh yes, and Levy is fully aware of the consequences of not backing Conte!!!


I wasn't going to post about this in the open forum but due to some already interpreting as the fat lady singing I thought I'd just add a little more context.

Fingers crossed it goes through.

If it does and Levy is genuinely diluting his own shareholding in the club (which is probably a large part of this personal wealth) in a bid to make us competitive again then I'll have a lot more respect for him.

I remember JJ once said Levy is a real fan and desperate for us to succeed, this would be the kind of thing that would show that.

I have no idea who it is. No point in guessing as I'd assume between them Levy and Lewis know a fair number of Uber rich people with enough money that they wouldn't even notice something like this in their balance checks.

Some of you have accused Conte of starting a team so bad that it would force Levy's hand. I'm thinking that A&C and Rob let this thread derail so badly that most of us would welcome the arrival of the bangstick. count me in if that happens.

with regards to the Goat's bleat et al, it does sound like a half step backwards but not necessarily a full step. there was a plan, it is in the execution stage but it is delayed. the most important party to it, Conte, is okay with it for the time being. but it certainly sounds like it is time to execute and stop mucking about even if it happens at an unexpected cost.

You’d be better off just sticking a few of the really negative ones on ignore for a week or two. That’s what I do when they are getting to me. you’re right though that some of the negativity is really toxic and not at all constructive.

Disappointment and a bit of moaning is understandable when deals fall through or we get info saying we are skint for the time being, but some of it is just repetitive wailing at this point, and much of the stick directed at the individual players is pretty ugly too.

I don’t see this latest news as anything particularly ground breaking, anyone with a lick of sense should have seen this coming given the current financial climate, the history of how the club operates and the time of year. January is never a productive time for our club and we very rarely do major business in the winter window unless we absolutely have to.

The positive in all this is that the club is open to outside investment, releasing shares and getting money in to improve the squad. Once that happens it could be pretty game changing. I still expect us to do at least some business this window though, hopefully we can shift out some of the unwanted players and get in what we need to tide us over till the summer.
