Agree on Rashford, not sure who to play on the left. I went with the other choices as its just Man City style with Stones falling back in beside Maguire to make a back 4 when needed.I wouldn't put Rashford near the starting XI right now.
And if you were going with the 3241 - I would play TAA over Stones, and maybe Stones over Maguire.
Ben White is a right cock and has a very smackable face to boot.
Rice is a leaderToo many strikers, wank defensive options and Henderson being the only leader Southgate seems to want in the dressing room other than Kane...
Ah well. Maybe next year.
You forgot Trippier. I don't count Ben White, because well yeah there's no point.James and Alex Arnold injured, and Ben White apparently requested not to be in consideration
Rice is a leader
That came out ages ago - he said that he doesn't watch football after training etc and it is pretty much a job.Hmm from a conversation I've just had it seems for Ben White think BAE. Sort of explains quite a lot imo.
I know nothing about Ajax's current situation but he captained them last night. So he must be doing something right to be seen in pro circles as a locker room leader by managers and players, something us mere outsiders don't get an insight in to. I'd expect this to be his last tournament and if it is, I have no problem with him being in and around the squad. Now if he is included in squads after the summer then I have a problem with it.+points at Southgate+ tell him that
tbf, Henderson captained Liverpool for... I dunno, must've been a few years, and it sounds like he's "popular in the locker room" - I mean, that's a broad statement, it could be he's a motivator that the younger players listen to, could be that he gives a great foot rub, I have no idea, but while fans roll their eyes - me included - I've never heard other players say anything negative about him..
It's just frustrating that there are top level midfielders waiting for a chance for England and he takes up a slot. Fully, 100% expect him to take up a coaching role either with England or follows Southgate to whatever club he ends up at.

What FIFA rule/s has he breached? First I'm hearing about any of this. Sorry if it's a n00b question. On this Ben White business, I remember reading in Paul Walsh's autobiography that he declined an England U21 call up under Bobby Robson.
He was 21, with 5 full international Caps under his belt, and just signed for Liverpool and was told to go on their end of season tour.
Robson went public and told him he'd never play for England again.
"If he can't motivate himself to play in a European Under-21 final, he's not for me."
Personally I thought that was too harsh, but Southgate is being far too soft.
You can't set the precedent that players can pick and choose when they'll accept a call up.
It's disrespectful to the other England players making that commitment, as well as the fans.
He should be excluded for several years.
Technically he's in breach of FIFA rules and should be banned from club football too.
Because it pretty much is until they retire and I admired Assou-Ekotto's honesty when he came out and said it all those years ago. If you're there for the money, cool. I respect it if they're up front about it.That came out ages ago - he said that he doesn't watch football after training etc and it is pretty much a job.
