England started pretty slowly but it's been very one sided and only one team has looked like winning this game thus far. Play eventually got going after a cautious start, have to say I think Dier going off and shedding a holding midfielder probably helped this, and the application off the ball has been pretty good when it comes to winning the ball back.

The first goal was really nice. Pass, pass, pass, easy goal. And shows you don't need a thousand touches and trying to run through them. Simple football at it's best. I thought the penalty was a bit harsh to be honest though I can see why he gave it. It's goalkeepers ball, the defenders do sandwich him but they have to put the brakes on themselves and can shield the ball.

Individually I don't think anyone has absolutely shone, but it's been a 7/10 team effort and watching England is just much better these days in what they try to do.

Joe Cole is such an absolute muppet. I'd sooner have a pundit that's bold and I may disagree with on occasion than somebody who states the obvious and tries to pass it off as insightful.

Saying it was a penalty due to both defenders closing off the gap, but if it was just one of the defenders putting the tackle in then the ref wouldn't have probably given it.
