Always been class, criminally undercapped due to this countries obsession with Lampard/Gerrard combo.

I remember alonso questioning his lack of international caps a few years back. His problem was you're not considered a successful dm in England unless you're tearing round the pitch diving into tackles at 100mph, never mind being in the right position to negate the need for tackling

What on earth does Danny Rose have to do to get a call up? Besides the obvious of playing for Man Utd/Arsenal/Liverpool etc.

The disrespect for Townsend on this forum is beyond belief.

Everyone here wants AT to succeed but he has done nothing for us to justify a place in the englnd squad or our squad next season. It is a shame and we don't need to insult him but he is fairly criticized.

Gutted for Rose

He has justified being in the england squad by being one of their better performers. Walcott is less deserving of a call up than Townsend

Agree with Beats here. Townsend always does well for England. Players earn a call-up by playing well for their club, but Roy needs players that play well for England. If Andros keeps playing well for England then he should stay in the squad. If his International form drops then by all means replace him with someone who is performing well at club level.

Barkley, Wilshere, Sterling and Jones but none have been involved with the U21's for over 1 and half years so none should be there

Exactly. Why would Southgate disrupt his side by bringing in players that wouldn't benefit from the experience.

Hardly surprised AT has been called up; usually does well for England. Roy clearly trusts him.

Pleased for Austin, deserves a chance having been the only QPR to look remotely decent all season.
