Well some fans and the manager which is what really matters isn't it?

Ange is a professional and will treat all of the players under his charge professionally and with the respect they deserve. Sure, he has a hierarchy within the squad, which is perfectly right and proper. He can only start 11 each week. To conflate the way he views the squad with the way fans view the squad is ridiculous.

We don’t have gaps in the squad. Its just that some fans don’t like certain players who provide the cover.

😂😂😂😂😂😂
Seriously, did you see the performance against Fulham and thought to yourself “I’m happy with the alternatives”?
There are massive gaps, big enough to drive a Traore through, and have been for many years.

It’s amazing how year after year, some think certain things will change, on/off the pitch.

Some comments before I am off.

Kane was offered the same pay as Bayern were going to give him - he said no. He was not going to sign a new contract, said so to Ange. So, if we do the impossible, we then get a value for this window.

Just like clearing out players who refuse to go. Well, we just should have sold them anyway. So, another unattainable measure of a window.

I presume we will get huge bonus points next year when Lloris, Dier and Sanchez have all left because their contracts expired? Oh wait, we got rid of Moura whose contract expired. No points for him being "gotten rid of"?

140M net spend (just like in 2022/2023). We did use the Kane monies, and then some.

Yes, Kane salary off the books. 200k/week saved. We used that money (and Winks salary) to put towards Maddison (175k/week), Kulu (110k/week), Porro (85k/week) Vicario (75k/week), Phillips 15k/week - no numbers yet for Van de Ven, Johnson, Solomon or Veliz.

Our gross salary is much higher than last season

Our operating costs are higher than most because of the stadium costs. That factors in things too.

The most recent numbers were from 2021/2022 - from Forbes. We are no longer in Europe - so far less revenue and more salary/more players - not exactly a recipe for great year end numbers when the books on 2023/2024 come around.

Ange's remit is to get us back in Europe.

Squad, IMO, is better. The football looks much better and the PL results (albeit early) are good. Won't get ahead of myself. Need three more points at Burnley and then2 weeks to get some more players up to speed and in better synch.

I remain optimistic about this season. 17 games until the next window and 17 games to play. Fingers crossed injuries and cards stay away from Romero.
What did I say about including Porro and Kulu in this window's accounts...

“Every penny is invested back into the club” - Daniel Levy

Harry Kane sold for £100m with £200k a week stripped from the wage bill. Brennan Johnson was bought for £37.5m who will be on a fraction of that £200k a week..

Summer 2022, the club had an additional £50m investment that wasn’t invested..

That should leave £112.5m in the club accounts..

Even if people argue where the match day revenue and TV coverage rights go, you can’t argue any of the above.

We are 2 injuries away from a crisis at centre back. With £112.5m to spend, we could have overpaid for 1 young centre back so not to leave Ange in the lurch.

Every penny has NOT been invested in the club, Daniel. This is quite simply a barefaced lie. Don’t lie to the people that invest in the club.
I'm not a fan of levy but you're missing Madison, vdv and Vicario out.

Granted we should be able to spend more than that but it's not a minus spend.

For starters, how much of the Kane money do we have right now? Did Bayern pay in full or are they paying in instalments? And if we spend the money in January, next Summer or some other time, how is Levy a liar? The idea that money coming in must be spent immediately is idiotic in the extreme.

We got the majority up front. That’s why the deal took so long and gave us little time to get a replacement. We got the money up front so we had a strong hand at the end of the window to buy players. Which we didn’t.

Very few clubs have a complete back up team that can come in without any preparation and take on another Premier League side.
They are squad players for a reason, supposed to come in 1-3 at a time and help out the first eleven. Let's hope we don't throw more games this season.

Maybe we just should have bought anyone. Who cares what Ange might think.

Are you suggesting Ange can’t be unhappy at having no serious back up to CB playing the way Ange plays other than possibly and being generous Sanchez.

Our manager is better than last season.
Our defence is better than last season.
Our midfield is better.
Our attack is worse.

Overall it is without question progress and as a team overall I think we are better.

I think it became very clear after Kane was sold that Ange was happy giving Richy a shot at number 9. On current evidence we’ll probably need a new first choice one in Jan or summer.

Personally if we’d just got that backup CB in it would’ve been a very good window in terms of incomings. I think CM with the emergence of Sarr and Bentancur coming back we didn’t really need Gallagher.

A lot to do with Postecoglu but I’m relaxed and excited to watch us play again finally. After all the hyperbolic “if we sell Kane we’ll be relegated” I think we’ll be more than fine actually.

You can say it’s only 17 games till January. There’s no way though that these owners will have a centre back lined up to come in on jan 1st. If any signings are to be made they’ll come in on the last day of the next window irrespective of how many points it may cost us not having them in early. Big clubs get their business done early as they understand the sporting implications of not doing so. For whatever reason our owners still can’t see this and it’ll clearly never change whilst they’re in charge.

It was shocking. But I very much doubt we’ll see that starting 11 again.

I think the manager is the biggest improvement. Losing Kane is huge, so not entirely convinced the net squad is better considering such a big loss but we have a manager who will use a player like Bissouma properly which is a big change and positive.

I think it is fucking insane that we haven't signed another CB, especially when Ange said in a press conference to the entire world that he wanted another one. We should have signed a second CB ages ago, and invested significantly in that position. Shit like this will happen year after year under this ownership. ENIC Out.

But you know what....

I'm not going to have a full on meltdown. I am extremely excited about our potential under Ange, and we do have a solid bunch of very exciting players.

So whilst it would be tempting to go apeshit in here, fuck that.

I've had enough of the toxic feelings that I (and many others) have had towards the team/club recently. I'm just going to look forward to seeing what we could do with this team, with very little expectations.

That's about right for me, my attitude as well.

Conflicted with frustration and excitement.

It should also be noted that a large proportion of starters last year are now back-ups: Lloris/Forster, Sess/Perisic, Sanchez/Dier, Skipp, Hojbjerg.

Hopefully going forward we will be asking players like Hojbjerg and Skipp who were important first teamers last season to fill in as needed.

That’s a big change whether we care to acknowledge it or not .

Paul O'Keefe casually said last night in the middle of a random conversation that we have a sporting director/DOF and we're just waiting an announcement FYI

Hopefully he is right. Be good to get a better structure going forward

I don't think you can blame the players. In every walk of life some people prefer comfort and continuity over pushing the boundaries and I'm sure the club as a whole over the last few years has accustomed them to that. They have every right to reject any moves. It just does us no good to keep comfortable players around the new boys.
This is true. It's why I'm still at SC rather than somewhere classy like The Fighting Cock.

Only disappointment for me was that we couldn’t get Ndombele out the door.

Keeping Dier, Sanchez, PEH, Lo Celso and Lloris is fine. They’re top professionals who I’m certain will conduct themselves properly, train hard and will give their all for team if selected.

We don’t have gaps in the squad. Its just that some fans don’t like certain players who provide the cover.

You really are in full denial mode aren’t you?

we got the Kane money up front, but regardless deals are spread out all the time both in and out.

keeping Lloris isn’t fine. We literally won’t be allowed to play him

by your definition there is no such thing as a gap in the squad - it’s not like we couldn’t field a team. We have positions where players clearly aren’t suitable or don’t really exist (CB for the former, CF for the latter).

And lastly, you pretending that fans are trying to foist anyone on Ange is frankly absurd. He wanted more players, especially a centre back. You can’t use him as a call to authority to say everything went fine
