Anyone got a list of all our transfer failings over the years? Ie. Examples of where Levy has fucked up/been stingy or lacking a plan? Need to explain to a mate but want a solid list
The Doomsday Book took a year apparently and that was quite simple logic compared to where you want to go sir!

Sometimes I think Levy is so worried about PR that he's actually discovered anti-PR... leaving the Johnson announcement until the last minute is just... 🤦🏼‍♂️
Remember Leeds did something similar a few years ago. Fans went mad on Twitter.

In regards FFP we have the most headroom of every ‘big’ club in the PL.

Im not sure how we are the only ones that this financial reality affects.
Not FFP mate, sorry. I’m not really disagreeing with you. I’m just surprised you thought we’d spend it. I don’t get upset about it as there’s fuck all and yes fuck all we can do about this stringent ownership model.

At a time when hate is at its strongest, the bars at the stadium were overflowing and selling out of beer. The stadium was rocking.

It’s not going to change; so it’s a useless exercise in getting upset about it. Billionaire chairman of business is good at the business and is maximising returns on the business. He is going absolutely nowhere unless someone offers him £5bn for it all and he’ll take whatever percentage is his.

In the meantime, we can go and watch the football, see our mates and escape life by chanting about John Terry’s Mum.

Fucking COYS. Fuck the owners.

Pro: Delighted with our current first 11. Much improved and great age profile in most areas.

Con: Squad is as thin as a Rizla paper in a number of key areas beyond the first 11 though

Would have liked Gallagher but that was a nice to have IMO.

Depth at CB should have been non negotiable. The idea that Dier or Sanchez could get minutes still worries the life out of me.

I genuinely don’t think our squad is as bad as it’s being made out to be.

Last year we had at least two of Dier, Davies, Sanchez or Lenglet starting each game. Now all of them are firmly reserves (or have left). Yes, it would have been preferable to have another top CB option to rotate with Romero and Van de Ven, but Sanchez, Davies and Dier are all proven, experienced Premier League players. Whilst they’re not at the top level it’s not like we’re having to chuck in a 17 year old if one of the starters is unavailable.

Porro and Royal are two good and complementary options at right back. Udogie looks fantastic at left back and Davies is a solid backup.

Similarly in midfield, one or two of Hojbjerg and Skipp started in almost every game last season. When Bentancur is back they are 4th and 5th choice in a two-man midfield, behind two arguably world class players and one of the most promising young midfielders in the league. You’d be hard pushed to find a better 4th choice than Hojbjerg.

We now have a playmaker for the first time since Eriksen left.

Clearly Kane will be a huge miss, but we’ve got a wealth of options in the front three (albeit all of them have some question marks above them and finding goals from attack could be a worry).

I’ve not even mentioned the new keeper. Kane aside, it’s so much better than last year.

Oh, and our manager isn’t a ****.

But we have no choice. Nobody wants them. It’s the reality for the foreseeable.
That’s different to saying they’re good players to have around when their performance levels and attitude towards trying to find another club objectively tells us that isn’t the case.

And what about VDV? Where does that money fit in? Or Vicario?

I’m not saying I don’t wish we’d done it. I just don’t think it’s grounded in financial reality.

so where are the other teams getting the money to spend then? There is huge tv deal and we just sold Kane. We're also told how levy is a commercial genius and how much money the stadium makes so I don't see how it's not possible. Arsenal spent enormous sums with no Europe and no 100m sale.

So where is the Kane money

But they didn’t want to go. End of

Correct. Which is their right.

AND THEREFORE.

They have chosen rotting here, over playing elsewhere.

AND THEREFORE.

They are not the kinds of characters any sane person wants near a young hungry squad.

AND THEREFORE.

Your claim that they are not bad players to have about the place, is demonstrable cack.

These are really, really, REALLY not difficult dots to connect.

I'm sure you've got a point, but for the life of me I have no idea what it is.
People will learn a lot from watching it and get more of a sense of the reality of transfer dealings.
We had people on here today thinking we were going to sign Bremer, Gallagher and Johnson for circa 120-150 mil pound.

But they won’t be involved and probably be gone in a few weeks. Most of you just aren’t realistic. We aren’t solving this in one window.

But we have a better goalkeeper, a better left back, a better centre back than last season. We have an attacking midfielder that we didn’t have last season. We have another promising winger who can play across the front line.
We’d all like another centre back and striker, but to get all those players in over one window is impossible.
You make it sound like Levy is doing it all on his own on a macbook whilst mainlining coffee. There's a whole analytics team to identify the players, and we have been sorting the CB slot for, what, 6 windows now?

We had scouted Lloyd Kelly when he was a Bristol City, he wasn't a new name for example. But waited till we had 8 hours to go to try and bid

It's just dis-organised, and badly run.

Definitely agree with others that we should have ripped up Dier's contract today and got a CB in that can play Ange's way.

It's within Dier's rights to refuse moves but when that happens then act on it. A proper DOF would have. They either would have agreed a free transfer or loan with no buy option just to save on the wages, or just flat out paid them off to leave, can't imagine Dier is on much more than £3m or so a year?

Levy however took the cowards route, didn't do anything and now is using Dier staying as an excuse.

Lloris is a mad one. We've lined up some decent moves

I don't particularly blame PEH for holding out for Atleti but it seems clear now they were going to get nowhere near a fair value on him.

The fact we have ITK saying Ange is furious about the CB situation only pisses me off more. We won't reach our true potential until Levy either sells up or steps away from football affairs.

Kane money was spent on the players £151m spent, £100m in

Very happy with every single player we signed.

But the fact we’ve only shifted THREE players permanently - one of whom is our greatest ever - when the squad was already desperately in need of trimming, is an utter disgrace.

Yet more abject mismanagement of the squad and negligent transfer dealings from Levy.

Let’s hope the rumoured bonfire of existing contracts starts very soon.

We can't force other clubs to bid. We even tried to flog Sanchez to Russia ffs. Other clubs are wise to the fact our players are at a point where they can hang on for 6 months and command a better deal.

I'm afraid we're in a bit of a shitty sweet spot as a club where we are not elite enough for players to want to join without decent wages. That makes it harder to sell them on if they don't work out etc.

The ins are the most important bit, the outs will sort themselves when contracts run out.

And yet, so many here want us to just sign anyone on deadline day to make up the numbers, even though it will cause the exact same problem further down the line.

The rebuild was never gonna all happen in one window.
A rebuild is replacing your current first 11 with better players, and this takes time. Nobody is expecting that to happen over night however support the manager with what he needs to give us a fighting chance for the season ahead.

Nobody is asking to buy players on the last day of the window, it is the clubs strategy which is a failed strategy. The window was opened approx. 60 days ago. The fact that we were trying to buy CB on the last day of the window tells us Ange wanted a CB and the Club failed to deliver what he wanted.
