I'd add VDV, Vicario, Udogie and Sarr to that. The drop off is really bad in these positions.

The flip side of that is we have 6 or 7 top class first teamers, whereas last year we had 3 or 4 at a push.

I agree the drop off is severe, but our first team looks much stronger across the board (obviously with a glaring Kane-shaped hole).

It suits nobody as it is but the football media machine. Not fans, not clubs, not players.

Ridiculous for example to know of interest in Hojbjerg for example from Atletico for the entire window, but they're waiting to get Felix out to get some money. Barca are also skint, so trying to make their own late moves to get money and make space. Barca in the end can't afford it, so do a late loan of the player, leaving Atleti with less money at the death, so they lowball us on Pierre on the last day and he won't go to elsewhere, which fucks our onward moves, possibly Chelsea's, and all the while the season is already in full swing, but nothing can even kick off until the first move in the chain takes place, and as usual every club that isn't oil is looking to eek the time out for the best opportunity...at the deadline.

It's pure madness to have all of this going on while clubs have a game in the morning, but I suppose it tallies up with the joke that is the scheduling of absolutely everything around football.

Daniel really doesn’t seem to get that unwanted players with a year to run on their contracts are not saleable assets.

I'd say 5 or 6 starting last year. This year jury is out on Son and a lot of the new players until they do it over a few games.
