I think there arent actually that many jobs for Poch this summer, he wont take Barca, Real will keep Zidane, he wont go to the Scum, Citeh, Man U and Liverpool arent available, i cant see him going to Chelsea or them wanting him and PSG are appointing Tuchel
correct apart from "them wanting him" - Roman would LOVE to get him

Seems like every year at about this time rumours come out that Poch wants a new contract or demands to be backed by Levy!
Yet, it seems that our bald head director does back him, perhaps a bit later in the market than he would have liked but signings like Sanchez, Moura and even Llorente are proofs of this yet the latter two mentioned are rarely used since signed.
MoPo has done a fantastic job so far and believes in this 'project'.
We don't have the cash power to compete with the big teams like Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool yet he has in the last 2 seasons finished 2nd and will probably be making Top 4 again.
Personally I believe he needs tactical nous and more experience and can do it with Spurs.
I don't think MoPo is the type of guy who will throw his toys out the pram and cause a fuss for a contract. Both MoPo and Levy have a good understanding and believe in this project.
I also believe teams like Madrid and Barcelona will look to us for buying players like Alderweireld and even Kane and Alli.
Sales of Alderweireld should get us big sums of money which can be invested in players and i sincerely hope that it wont be the likes of the N'Kondous ...

Sorry but I'm a Spurs fan who loves Poch and what he's done for us, but if he's puffing out his chest and making demands he needs to get real. He'll leave eventually and us lot will still be here, the club is about the fans not one person. I'm in my 50s I've seen them all come and go, Levy has a project, Poch is an integral part but not the be all and end all.

Sounds like you've followed the club for about as long as I have, and all I can say is that I've never known a time during that period when the club has not only been as stable as it is now, but it has also shown a continual progression at a time when other teams have seemingly limitless budgets. As you say, Managers come and go but we haven't had one for decades that has compared in any way to Pochettino. We could slip right back to where we were with somebody else in charge, so to me it's vital that we keep the man happy.

Are you sure Real will keep Zidane? I doubt it even if they win CL he's gone.. & if Poch is offered Real job I can't see him turning it down..

the word from Spain is that he is def staying
and why would you get rid of someone who has one 2 CL and got to another final, with someone who hasnt done anything like that, would be a big sell to their fans

Is there any reason that nobody is creating individual player threads? We've been linked with a number of players but still only seeing Cedric Soares as having a thread.

Is everyone too scared or am I missing summin?

It's because we never actually signed anybody we are linked to in May. Think about it, Damiao, Villa, Martial, Schneiderlin, Rabiot all were May links, none of which ended up being signed.

Question to the MODs, are you going to highlight the ITK posters again? I found it very useful when scrolling through the dross

Yea though the LG has been total failure.. not certain on this but haven't they only won 1lg title in 5 years..that's not good enough for a club like Real.. I can see a big clear out at Real over next few seasons..hopefully they just go with someone short term to do the clear out.. they hired Ramos so Poch wouldnt b to big a sell..he's done a great job with us..if he is offered job he'd be mad not to take it..chance might not come around again & he has said it's his dream job

Yes I agree, but at the same time Poch has to be realistic. I'm sure we all agree there has to be a ceiling in terms of what he is paid, if he expects the same as Pep he's clearly looking for an argument.

if your going by Peps trophies at City, a quarter wouldn't equal a trophy yet still.

As others have mentioned perhaps this will all be resolved once CL is confirmed, so lets all prey it's confirmed very quickly, as Levy would be a mug to lose Poch, even if we finished 5th. lose Poch we could have an exodus of players wanting to leave

I'm not. They are the two highest paid managers in football because they are the most successful and have the trophies to prove it.

Even if we paid him £10 - £15m per season, that's a drop in the ocean in comparison to the amount we've wasted on transfer fees and wages for bang average squad players like N'Koudou, Sissoko, Janssen etc in recent windows.

Poch is our star player.

If he's the only one of them on 200k + per week then, given his importance to the club, that's about right. The only other one that comes close is Harry Kane.

Poch is worth that to US in his coaching abilities. Look how much he’s improved Walker, Rose, Toby, Jan, Dele, Eriksen, Kane, Trippier Davies Son.. Gets next to nothing in budget but is able to maximise all his players abilities to take us a level we shouldn’t really be at with our spending. Players know how much he’s helped them which would coincide with the GOATS ITK on them stalling.. Need him tied down and paid the going rate for a top manager. Or else we’re back to square 1

The question is though, how well would Poch do with Guardiola's assets, and probably more relevantly, how well would Guardiola do at Spurs? I think Poch would do extremely well at City, or even at Real Madrid for that matter. Our squad is young and inexperienced by comparison because we haven't bought in players who've won at the highest level. That isn't Poch's fault. Losing a top manager isn't like losing a top player in that there's very little compensation in relation to what they can bring to the club. Levy should be busting a gut to be building on the foundations Poch has laid and proving that we can hang onto our prime assets.

I believe last year it was Sessegnon & Barkley as well.

The money “wasted” on signings is interesting. We have made a lot of signings that have been gambles - expensive or not. A lot of people had turned up the chance to sign Eriksen before we signed him and he has become a gem. The same goes for Davies and Alli obviously. I would take a one in two sucesss for those type of signings but I agree some of our left field signings have not been great such as GK and Clinton etc. Some of our best players have been our cheapest. I have no problems if the club see a potential bargain if it means taking a risk on potential because that is where we are operating. Now when we secure our big names in long Contracts and the stadium is up and running perhaps we will be in the market for the ridiculous signings that are made each summer. Being savvy in the market is not a bad thing and it is a disease of the premier league to look far afield and at the most expensive as the Best potentially. It just ain’t so. Ask the well run clubs in Europe ....

And he is one of their most popular players of all time, a hero and a Perez loyalist
