I can only think of one striker still available, on wages we could imagine affording, who would cost 30-50m (substantial chunk of Bales 80m)... and like the Goat, he has a tendency to get a little bitey.

Also I hope they mean wide forward as we don't need two big name strikers.

Didn't I read somewhere that AVB wants a compact, trimmed squad, where players can cover more than one position? That would tally with your Kaboul covering RB, etc.
Or, did I dream that?

This makes a lot of sense really, as it is easier to develop a great team spirit when dealing with a small group of players. It also means that we have less players to keep happy, more players will be in-form due to getting game time and affords a greater opportunity for players from our academy to get game time.
