I did sooner have Eriksen than Pastore. Not only is he cheaper, but he is also starting to improve his end product.

Can't say I would be too sad to see this though. Can you imagine a choice of Townsend, Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela and Griezmann for the wide forward/winger roles. That needs an 18+ rating as it is filthy.

Nope. Holtby is class and will provide competition for Eriksen in a creative midfield role.

I guess it's debating whether Eriksen is now being bought instead of Willian or that he was a planned arrival all along.

If it's the latter, then it's conceivable that Griezmann, Pastore and Vadillo are legitimate targets.

There's a list of targets, presumably agreed between our "committee" and those are 3 names that have been mentioned as being on that list.

I assume how it works is we identify a position, then identify targets in that position and then assess them both in terms of ability as well as how likely it is they'd come, what wages they'd demand, etc. If we could get Eriksen for £10 mil then presumably we'd see that as preferential to spending £25 mil+ on one of the other targets.
