Apparently Villa have set a deadline of 18th July for the deal to be done, so I guess we will know either way by Friday.

I thought it was the start of August. Where did you see the 18th mate?

I think by the end of the week we'll know one way or another if this deal is going down.

Hopefully we'll get him. Hell I want us to add him for the tour in Asia lol

I left early when I heard Benteke was practically in the bag - went out and got pissed properly to celebrate

Villa can want it done by the 18th they can't insist. Umpteen million on the table and a replacement lined up they ain't going to walk away from it trust me.

I would of thought Villa would of wanted their replacement in first before a price is inflated. Maybe they've already got their replacement well lined up and ready to sign.

Villa are back in training this week after pre season games in Germany, if he has handed in a TR i can see Lambert having him train on his own, or with Ireland and Bent , think all parties want this sorted otherwise it could get messy.. them's me onion..

My mistake, it is Benteke that wants it sorted by 18th July, according to the Evening Standard any way (no quotes as usual).

Yeah I think if it drags the deal becomes less likely. A swift resolution that satisfies everyone. So that Villa can plan accordingly and move on is probably in the best interests of all parties.

No worries i did post this info last week sometime? I posted in the ITK daily thread so some could of missed it. As i said at the time this is only a date they said they wanted it done. Doesnt mean it will happen! Even levy has let people go on deadline day before even after giving the other team a deadline weeks before.

But since i posted this info last week i was told my info which is in the RO and JJ has said it is done. So maybe will be done this week.

I just hope we can do it reasonably quickly. Dragging on and it could get very messy.

The thing is though I'm pretty sure Benteke and his agent, from having discussions with Levy, know what the game plan is.

The initial game plan yeah, we have seen the goalposts moved time and again and i really do hope i can stop making Levy dragging it out jokes this season, would love this to happen by Friday..
