According to jj it ain't rafa i won't tag it as has Easton in lol and am on me phone.

Also people claiming regarding De boer interview he had one before Sherwood so surely won't need another one so if we have to wait maybe that's what jj is eluding to when he gets back from Indonesia??

We all know what will happen, we will get Pochettino from Saints (rememeber the last manager we got from them???), he will be sacked in 18 months. Meanwhile Arsene moves upstairs and FBD along with Bergkamp come in and start another fucking legacy.

DL finds himself under a great deal of pressure to pick a manger who can take us back to challenging for CL. Does he go for Pott or FDB knowing that there are slight risks attached (already discussed at length) or plump for the relevant safety of a proven winner in Rafa.

If I were in his shoes I would go for Rafa, much less risk and probably fairly safe from criticism if for some reason it doesn't work. Regular top 4 and cup wins is a strong possibility with Rafa and that is all we can expect in my view.

I'd take regular top 4 and cup wins any day of the week.

Am actually good with all three of the options discussed but FdB sort of feels more Spurs so heart says him. Heart also says f**k the head so heart wins. Want FdB.

Small donation winging it's way over, good to be back.

As for Managers (Head Coach whatever). Out of the three main choices it's FDB for me, I don't like Benitez and Tino's a bit of a risk.

Can't deny that my overall enthusiasm has waned a bit though.

1st choice FDB
2nd choice poch
3rd choice rafa

Now if we get rafa I'm gonna be happy as he's one of my choices, a lot of us seem to have our hearts set on just 1 of the 3 so seem to be anti the other 2.

We need to realise that all 3 have pros and cons and whoever we get will not please everyone, so as long as it's not moyes we will see an improvement next season

I'm still clinging to the hope that ancelotti gets punted from real and for some odd reason chooses us over all the other offers he will have.

Outside of that pipe dream occurring I'll go with the order you have above.

I wish there was a symbol for "depressing but true!"...
...but there isn't... so I've just clicked "Agree" instead!

So taking all the ITK, the comments made by the club about approaching De Boer and doing a bit of surmising can we take it De Boer is out the picture? Real shame if so, he's the one I felt most idealistic about. I can see the attraction of Poch with Rodgers and Martinez doing so well this season but I the idea of having De Boer still seems more appealing

Am I the only one not excited by Ancelotti? Maybe it's irrational but I'd rather have Benitez over him.

What if we got de Boer and he was a rub out but the Arse got Pochettino who did wonders with them? Too many variables to start trying to second guess that type of shit!

I'm keen for us to hold out for a couple of weeks. If Bale and co fail to deliver in the CL final Carlo will likely be out of work

With Carlo and LVG out of work and Rafa, Poch and FDB seemingly happy to move that will present some interesting options. The only big clubs looking for a manager will be Barca, Real and Utd. I can actually see FDB at Barca despite what he's said in the past, LVG looks likely to go to Utd but why has it not happend yet? Are Utd looking at Carlo?

We do not need to rush this decision. Pre season does not start until after the World Cup, any incoming manager will know our problem areas already without having to see the squad so targets can quickly be drawn up and brought in before long. If we jump in too soon we may not see all the cards on the table and end up with the wrong hand (again). It actually quite exciting starting again (again) after a season of toxic goings on we should be looking forward with positivity and hope (again). We have money, we have some good talent all we need is the right coach to gel it together (again)

I would not be surprised to see Claudio Ranieri linked with us before too long too, might be out of a job soon, friends with Levy, we went for him if i recall after Chelsea sacked him but couldn't because of his payoff

Aren't Juve looking too, didn't Conte say he was looking for something new?

Though I agree probably the best available option don't you feel that it would have a short term vibe around it?

No...because we have done the long term promising manager 5 year project route with Hoddle,Ramos,Villa Boas before

Only problem is they didn't last that long

I think all this talk of regular top 4 is a little premature. Yes we would all love that and it should be our aim. However, until we have a stadium and can compete on wages, we are looking at 5th or 6th. Money talks.
Everton are the only team who finished above us who spend less on wages. And that was the first time in several years.
I would settle for the next season or two for some serious progress in our playing style and being competitive/winning in the cups in the hope that in a couple of seasons we could have developed the mentality to regularly challenge for that top 4 spot in addition to the above.
