Difference between us and the big 5

Chelsea, City, Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool all have ambitious owners who attend all their games and support the club

We are owned by a money grabbing parasite who lazes about in the Bahamas counting his money

There's quite a few reasonable people who are a bit frustrated with the way this window has gone despite some good work early on - and that some of the dingleberries in the squad are still here.. but your ramblings are completely undermining this position and tarring all those people with your delusional brush.. I thought you were going to stop trolling about 2 hours ago..

For those who KEEP asking about JJ he said earlier in ITK that he'd be keeping quiet until very late because of the number of hacks who read his posts

I'm honestly not bothered about missing out on Welbeck. What I am frustrated about is that in world full of affordable, quality and young wide forwards we have apparently pigeon-holed ourselves into two players (Rodriguez/Welbeck) that were always going to be incredibly difficult to obtain.

They scored 20 league goals between them last season. I wouldn't say we were particularly lucky then.

Ade did'nt get a look in untill AVB went and Kane only burst onto the sceane towards the end of the season.

Please people, lets have a bit of context

I'm sure Poch just wants to try and get Jay Rod and MS in January, he seems to have a real hard on for both.
Exactly this. Club won't spend significant money on alternatives. Didn't expect Southampton to keep their word but sure their owner may feel differently in January. Also gives Poch 4 months to assess the squad properly.

To be honest, I'd prefer to see our youngsters given a chance, rather than sign average players (Welbeck etc.)

I like the look of Mason, and apparently we have a few exciting youngsters on the up. After all, isn't this how Poch actually likes to work? His Southampton were built on great youngsters, not average signings.

If we have a chance to sign someone of real quality then that's one thing. However, you can't really claim that of any of the players we have been linked with (maybe MS).

Well it's probably better to start the day wanting Wellbeck and ending up with nothing than starting the day wanting Falcao and ending up with Wellbeck?!

The original JJetset ‏@jetsetyid

Nothing happening as Poch wants a smaller squad. Best way as we build a squad for the future. (Again)

Hit the straw lads. Like it was ever going to be any different with Levy and the cowboys. Another window left further adrift. Lennon, Townsend and Lamela. 3 goals in the league between them. We go forward with that. Wish Poch all the best, we will be getting some more pastings from the big boys with their shinny new toys. We've signed 6 defensive players none of whom would get into a top 4 side.

looks like I had a point. Thought we might struggle to attract top players with him in charge, and we haven't attracted any. Obviously Levy and the market in general are major factors, but Pochettino isn't going to do much to change it. Still...hopefully the fans will back him and give him time to work with what he's got.

You don't have a point at all because you've no evidence to back that up whatsoever.

In fact its ridiculous you're even trying to imply that to prove some point you're well wide of the mark with in the fist place.

The most ridiculous thing about this moaning is that if we'd equalised on Saturday with Ade or Chadli's chances, and held the game to a 1-1, hell, even got beaten 3-1 in the end, there wouldn't be half as much dramatics here.

Did you all watch the game?

Was it not clear that there's a different mentality. We were physically outplayed by a Liverpool team who are playing to a system remarkably similar to ours. They had some underwhelming players in their side and a few players who are truly impressive.

We are very similar. What we don't have is the experience in our players of playing under their manager. That team that lost to Liverpool yesterday was a world away from the one that lost last year.

Anyone that thinks we're in for more of the same this year is mistaken. I saw a Spurs team that were making mistakes, but I didn't see a lack of commitment. We'll be fine this year. I saw enough against QPR to suggest we'll be blowing teams away in a few months and going toe to toe against the teams around us in a much more equal fashion.

We've a good squad. It would be nice to strengthen, but we're not in bad shape in anyway whatsoever.
