Just watching SSN and seeing all the money being spent by just one club. I fucking hate when clubs throw money around in the transfer window.

Ah shit, that's us! :shifty:

And knowing how annoying this must be for all the gooners to watch makes me feel all warm inside !

To be honest, KaKa is a great shout. Taoist Monkey and I were discussing it last weekend; basically, he's still got a hell of a lot to offer. He's not popular at the Bernabeu any more and he really needs to do something special with the end of his career. We've got a home from home environment (lots of Brazilians!) and a very interesting project. ;)

I've thought about it, to get who was undoubtedly one of THE best players in the world a few years back sounds unlikely, but as you say we have 3 brazil players already, and he is out of favour.
Also from a financial point of view, think of the shirt sales? If would be a good move for all concerned.

Not sure if I can see him dropping a level however. Lets wait and see eh?!

Well, we'd be looking at someone 'big' who is no longer guaranteed the game time he might like and would be willing to pop over to WHL for World Cup year in order to get the required playing time. Probably a striker or playmaking silky skilled horn provoking midfield maestro.

Most are guessing at Kaka. But how about Pastore now Cavani has joined Ibra at PSG, is there room for a No.10 alongside those two??

Possibly....Baldini could probably get a Dr. that we approve of set up over there, hell we could fly our team docs over there and few people would probably realize who they were.
Correct. I certainly wouldn't. Anyone here recognise our doctors?

Updates to my various posts last week. A bit more info. Basically Bale’s is not only the largest transfer in football history it is proving probably the most complex transfer to negotiate and document, partly due to existing commercial activities, partly due to the goalposts inevitably being moved by all sides and circumstances, partly due to the linked transfers potentially involved.

Last Thursday I posted a summary of RM’s financial position. This appears to have been resolved by bank guarantees covering any future payments to Spurs, but RM still has to raise cash quickly either to fund the down payment, or to repay any extra short term loans RM take out. RM has had to use all its political clout to get their banks to play ball. The financial situation of Spanish football (taxes owed, club debts, split of TV income) is a much bigger issue than I can cover here and I expect the Bale transfer to be looked back on one day as a defining moment in Spanish football. The record may well be Bale’s for a long time.

The headline price RM pay will be the £ number that the media, fans and football world will focus on. But a chunk of the ‘value’ in the deal may only come out later. I can’t say more than that at this stage. Suffice it to say Spurs do not want to burn bridges like they did with a couple of ex-players. It’s not just a question of haggling over 100m v 85m v 75m or even how long RM has to pay for him. That’s the easier bit. Make no mistake, this now seems to be a transfer that the player and both clubs want to happen this year. But it is still not 100% it will get done. I have no idea whose faces would then have most egg on!

Last Friday I commented ‘my enemy’s enemy is my friend’. This is the interesting part. Relations between some of the individuals involved in Bale negotiations remain tense. But the move for Willian by Chelsea was widely disliked and it pushed parties together. As I said last Friday, there is something called the Law of Unintended Consequences. It’s 50:50 but the consequence of Chelsea’s cleverness might just be that a better player than Willian turns up at WHL, at least for one season. Just to be clear, this would be on top of Lamela.
Why not Kaka? Madrid don't seem to need him and nobody else to wants him. But on his day he is quality! If it didn't work out, he's also used to warming the bench! Must be more realistic than Oezil, right?

From the Transfer Pledges thread:

Holy fuck, I'm in serious debt.

By my maths, it is:

Paulinho = £17m = £1m over the record = £2 donation
Soldado = £25.8m = £8.8m over the record = £17.60 donation
Lamela = £30m (I've included the add-ons because I'm a top bloke) = £4.2m over the record = £8.40 donation.

So a total donation of £28.

Correct?

No!
Everything should be over the 16 million. Right A&C?
I am so evil.

Seriously - if we sign Kaka this window........GB will be immediately forgotten.

Pure class and an experienced player - could be the next VDV.

He is the epitome of a No.10
