If AVB don't like benny defensively, then in time he's gonna lose patience with Walker and seek an upgrade. Walker has this season to up his defensive game imo.
I'd like to se a RB come in Jan tbh and give him some proper competition at least.
Every day I watch for the old man with the flowers, and I wonder, was he born here? Did he love someone here? Did he lose someone here? He doesn't seem as curious about me, but that's all right. These days I'm something of a loner myself.
I'm not sure that's what it is to be honest, my impression was more that AVB has little patience for players who don't work hard in training and who don't take the tactical side of the game seriously. Benny's demeanor and skill was far more suited to Harry's style of setting up the team, I think for Benny the dream manager is one who says 'just go out there and play your game', which I know is a simplified idea of what Harry did as manager but still it was far less disciplined that what AVB has started.
And that's not a swipe at Benny or anything, I love the guy but I don't think that he and AVB really go well together. Walker though, for all the criticism he gets, is clearly making an effort to learn the game and learn his role in the team. He was awful at the start of last season but improved throughout, and I think soon enough he will be a huge player for us. I kind of get pissed off when people call Walker an idiot and stuff and say he's brainless, if you hear him talk he actually sounds quite bright, and by accounts is one of the most well-liked players in the dressing room. Tactically, an attacking fullback is one of the toughest positions to play in, I think we should give him time to get comfortable in the role.
I can see it now on deadline day. Baldini sat in a room with Lamela and his agent ready to finalise the transfer. Bale and his agent in Madrid ready to sign, and Daniel Levy holding him back until we get confirmation of Lamela signing. Lamela signs minutes before the window closes, Bale signs for Madrid but it's too late the window is closed.I bet Lamela is close to done. And Willian is being used to make it happen quickly. No matter what, Levy won't want Roma using the Bale money to get into another circular negotiation......like Leandro. So I bet Lamela will happen quickly if we are close to selling Bale.
Just a gut. But a gut based on how Levy can be in a deal and how he does learns from mistakes.
Even the Goat has to eatOy, give us some itk you slag! You're not allowed to eat ffs.
What the hell is this place coming to...sheesh.

And Portsmouth waived their sell on fee (£4m apparently!) for Defoe

so not sure which player/south-coast club he's referring to
OK A&C. These quotes of yours ... this one to do with Tuscany. Rome ain't in Tuscany, sunshine! But you know that ...
So not Lamela related?
Every time I see conflicting information on Bale I feel for those on here who put money on him staying, their emotions are being toyed with big time!
Just had a thought about the goats latest offering.
South coast club, we brought Kaboul from Pompey in 2010, will he hit a certain criteria where we have to give them some more dosh? I.e appearances?
The goat also said name haven't been given but 2+2 equals 4 which happens to be Kabouls squad number.
Nah? Well worth a go. I just don't want it to be bale :-(
Yeah I totally meant before the Spanish window closesI like that - except the Spanish window closes two days before the English
