Is that accurate? Must be going towards stadium, cannot see any other reason why.
as far as i can see we sold corluka 6m, niko 6, pienaar 5, bassong 3m, gio 4m, vdv 12m, moddy 32m, button 500k which bought in 69m, we spent 8m on gyfi, 9m on jan, 4m on adebayor, 5m on dempsey, 10m on hugo and 15m on lloris, that makes 18m profit, in jan we made on pav thats 27m, last season i think we made about 35m profit so sorry slightly short as its about 62m in 12 months as we only bought parker for 5m yet sold crouch and wilson for 20m, hutton, keane and a load others

weve had the creativity culled from our squad.

pisses me off the state that levy is happy to leave our squad in, and that he gets away with it

There was a story floating round about a possible extension for us to sign moutinio, would anyone know if it's just a lie?

I believe that was debunked. We've got to move forward with what we have. I am just as upset we missed out as the next guy, but that's just how shit goes.

It's strange so much negativity surrounding Dempsey but the fact is we could have done with him today.
We could have also done with a bit of craft and Pienaar could have delivered that.
There is nothing wrong with last minute beat the transfer deadline deals.
However there is something wrong with not utilising these signings properly.
As long as Dempsey is wanted by AVB I back him to deliver the way he always has done throughout his career.
I do wonder whether Dembele not starting today was a message from AVB to Levy as we all know he drove this transfer.

First visit here for the today after the joys of last night and also this afternoon. Best not to really express my views about a few things too much. I'm sure I'll calm down a little soon. Laters! (y)

Edit - Oh, and a special thanks to SC for keeping it all moving last night. Well done chaps!

I can't wait for all the twats in the next window giving it 'Chill we got this', 'Levytime' and 'Have faith' because it's clearly a fallacy.
We've made some good signings but sold our best 2 midfielders and light in some positions yet again and it's the same old story of 'We tried but it's not our fault' yet again. Dempsey's a good player but clearly brought out of desperation, just thank fuck it wasn't Rasiak or Campbell.

Surely when Jan rolls around and Ade likely goes ACN Levy will realise signing a strikert can't wait for deadline day. I do feel a little sorry for AVB if it all goes tits up for him this season as I don't think he's properly been backed and his career can't afford another flop. As someone else mentioned his failure will be Levy's failure

This 100% , plus people banging on time and time again about us after Leandro FFS the bloke aint interested from everything ive read him say .

Levy's gotta back Boas n get the players HE wants in coz one things for sure if the results aint right HE WILL get shown the door . FFS back him , all money we spend is generated by sales . Now i understand that but were getting more like the fuckin Nomads down the road every window . Now was the time to spend big and take us onto the next level . We spent fuck all of the Champions League money n don't even touch TV money or Sponsorship money from what i've seen in the last few years !

One other thing , we were after Moutinho all summer and only found out after they accepted our bid there was 3rd party ownership n all the bollocks that go with Pini n Kia , yeah right wake up n smell the coffee every man n his dog knows what them pair of twats are like to deal with why leave it till the last bloody day ! Just to save a few £££m . Just remind me how much the difference is in finishing in a Champions League place or UEFA place !!!

Rant over !

"The deal was almost done but there were problems with the contract. It was always a difficult deal to complete and we were ready for it not to happen," Villas-Boas told Sky Sports.
"The player terms were agreed a little bit late but I am extremely happy with the amount of players we have."

So SKY were correct and our ITK lot were wrong when they said the deal had hit trouble over personal terms. Surely in the two and a half months from when AVB took charge and made it clear JM was his number 1 target we would have spoken to his agent/s to get a inkling of what he was after. No way would we have gone forward with this deal if he was demanding stupid £'s. It is normal procedure now right to speak to agents before a bid is made in major transfes? How on earth have we managed to screw up this deal after we done the bloody difficult part of agreeing a fee with Porto...?

Moutinho was nearly done? Shame. Mind you though, we only had 4 months to get it done. Nowhere near enough time ( strangely we managed to tie up Dempsey in about a minute...)

If he was so close to signing and assuming AVB is still in a job ( who knows? It's football right? ) then can we fully expect Moutinho to be a Tottenham player come January 2nd?

Yeah, I thought not either!!!

Got to say, hertsyid ITK, fair play for coming out and talking after the window closed. Other ITK stalwarts are strangely quiet...

I couldn't agree more! No point appointing AVB if DL is not going to back him with players HE wants.

likewise,,i couldnt agree more with you,,since when did levy qualify for doing the most important part of a managers job,,,which has to be putting a team together,,,if thats what he wants to do,then we need a manger who is gonna get the best out of his players, put his arm round the players and tell yhem how great they are,,,any suggestions?????:)

A friend of mine in Portugal told me this evening that moutinho and he's agent were holding us to ransom as they knew we didn't have an alternative
He says they were demanding 100k a week after tax and previous negotiations was only half that

I can only assume we did know his wages and could pay it but his agent demanded 50% extra per week plus he wanted a nice little pay out. He knew we were desperate and thought Levy would give in
