No doubt you are correct on the financial realities, but here's the counter to that.
I've been spending money on Spurs for 25 years, partly because of family, but really mostly because of Gascoigne and Lineker.
Most kids these days pick their team because of a star player.
How many future generations of new fans worldwide could be inspired to follow Spurs by the return of one of the greatest players in our history.
Fans = long term revenue.
Which should interest ENIC more than an occasional windfall from CL or Player sales.

I'd hope that it's Timo Horn, there isn't a huge amount of quality in the rest of the Cologne side. Gerhardt and Vogt are decent young central midfielders but that's not really what we need.

Regarding Horn, when I went on Cologne forums, they seemed convinced that Horn was going to Dortmund in the next year or two to replace Weidenfeller. There seemed to be Cologne ITKs saying the same as well.

To be honest, I can't see Horn coming to us but a quick look at their squad has me scratching my head as to who the other player could be. Having said that, I'd never heard of Wimmer before he started being linked with us so maybe there's another 'under the radar' player that I'm not aware of.

Been linked to both Man U and Arsenal in the last few days, with him even reacting to the Arsenal bit, so that's unfortunate. They've used oversized 16 year old girls and a German clunker for so long it'll be a stark change for them.

Only way it really makes sense to me.....aside from Horn I can't see a name that makes sense.
Dragovich, Fuchs and maybe Sabitzer (maybe Djuricin?) at least stand out on national level.

There's Martin Harnik, 27 year old Stuttgart striker but I can't see why he would need much convincing to come. Other than Alaba who's way out of our league and Dragovic who's going elsewhere, I don't know of any other Austrian's who either look capable to playing in the premier league or more importantly, would need convincing to come to us.
