My hopes are now all pinned on Lucas Moura and fucking Nkoudou.
I think Moura will do well for us as for your intentions towards Nkoudou, I hope you will be very happy together (though suspect this is a Grealish rebound)

Yes, because the players those clubs need to improve would not even make our bench, even injury crisis taken into account, and block the path of our youth players more than it already is.

Each club below us in terms of stature biggest signing this window:

Bournmouth: Diego Rico - who?
Brighton: Florin Andone - who?
Burnley: Ben Gibson - at best would be our 4th choice CB, we have highly talented Foyth for that
Cardiff: Josh Murphy - the shitter brother of the kid who can't make it at Newcastle
Crystal Palace: Max Meyer - Hugely unprofessional billy big balls who was banned from training by his own club - sounds ideal for Poch
Everton: Richarlison - not as good as any of our AMs and he cost £50m!!!!
Fulham: Alex Mitrovic - already flopped in this league/ Schurlle - already flopped in this league / Mawson - see Ben Gibson above
Huddersfield: Terence Kongolo - See Ben Gibson above
Leicester: James Maddison - not as good as any of our current AMs or as Grealish
Newcastle: Salomon Rondon - do I really need to go there?
Southampton: Mohamed Elyounoussi - scored 1 in 3 in the Swiss League for the best club there
Watford: Gerard Delofeu - wasn't good enough for Everton to activate a clause
West Ham: Felipe Anderson - go back to Richarlison
Wolves: Benik Afobe - well I guess he used to play with Harry Kane, god dammit we should've signed him!
Maddison is better than grealish.

Cant say im happy, but im mostly worried.
Cant help to think that if our season doesnt go well, we will loose some of our players, by that i mean our core-players :(

Disappointing but glad we haven't bought for the sake of it. For whatever reason the players poch wanted, didn't come to fruition.

We are at a stage now where our purchases need to improve/challenge the first team with our youth filling im squad options. Its what Fergie did so well with Utd.

Probably not, the anger and other describing words I get, but some of the OTT stuff ... Let people tee off and blow it out their system.

Yeah but if the meltdown continues it shows that despite everyone prefixing their posts with something about “all I care about is poch” actually they care about not having new signings, which is fine I’m frustrated aswell, but just don’t pretend it’s anything more profound.

I think the lesson here is confirming that you need bundles and bundles of salt when reading ITK. All of it is given in good faith but not one of them said we wouldn’t be buying anyone, which is proof that situations change all the time, sometimes beyond Spurs’ control. I’m sure at various points throughout the window, we were looking at Zaha, Martial etc but it didn’t happen because shit changes daily. Villa being taken over by billionaires is one example.

This thread should be fun. It’s a bit of an insight into the club at best. The fact we didn’t sign anyone is obviously depressing and that should never happen for a club ‘challenging for the league’. But people who take a positive ITK bit of news as an absolute given, will invariably always be let down because it always changes.

I believed every bit of ITK from our main posters because I believe that’s how it was at the time of their posts. I didn’t believe all of it would come off because I know from experience on this forum and being a Spurs supporter that most of our stuff doesn’t. I still enjoyed the ITK though. It’s tough not to get excited at a bit of very positive ITK (Zaha, Martial, Kovacic etc) but you absolutely have to class it as just a bit of info rather than a ‘YES WE’VE GOT HIM AND I’LL KILL MYSELF IF THIS DOESN’T COME OFF’! If we can manage that, there will be a lot less anxiety in here. But of course there’s no denying it’s unbelievably shit that we didn’t sign anyone.

On the plus side, we have Newcastle Saturday and they’re more disjointed than us!

Totally agree with you.

... I think Summer 2016 was probably our worst window. We spent £75m on Sissoko, Janssen, Wanyama, N'Koudou, and Lopez on loan. The only one of those we'd still want around two years on is Wanyama, and he seems to have chronic fitness issues. The other three cost us £60m between them, are so poor that we can't seem to sell them at all let alone re-coup that money despite huge transfer inflation since then, have taken up squad opportunities from talented youngsters who've got so fed up some of them have started leaving the club, and are now hogging squad spaces we therefore can't use on anybody else. That is FAR worse than a couple of short-term freebies or simply doing nothing.

Yes that window really f_ed us right through to now and the future.

But it was also a window where we agreed a deal for bats, then levy screwed the deal try to be cheap. Poch also wanted zaha but levy went in with a FU offer that was so offensive that it killed any hope of a deal. We missed out on two wing forwards of decent quality, the player type we have been crying out for, and still are. We ended up paying big money for inappropriate players who weren't up to it.

I actually think Poch doesn’t really push for signings and he is as much to blame as levy , agree with jj , think the issues have been if the club have been leaking deals done and 150 m etc which have raised expectations which were in hindsight never ever going to happen

We obviously had no strategy. Making a few stupid offers fot Martial, Zaha etc doesn’t constitute proper effort. Under Levy and co you struggle to see us signing any player that other top 6 teams have an interest in in. We are not even at the table by all accounts.
